No way, that would be a very tough walk.

On that day paying $5.00 to fill my truck radiator with water, never dreamed of people buying bottle water nearly every day, insted of Coke's & such.

Oh, well, must take quite a few water bottles to fill a truck radiator, anyway...

If this heat continues I might want to go up to my parents house up North they have a swimming pool and hot tub I been longing for the last two years.

... or even a cold tub, right?

We had humidity of 51 degrees Celcius up here, the other day.

Yes, we are often in our pool, too.

I tried the tub here and I tend to put hot water in for normal baths LOL anyhow I am sitting next to the window a/c

Oh what would we do without A/C ...?

Some friends and neighbors like to use our pool (I wonder why?), but I'd better not say too much, I guess.

Without A/C, we would sweat and be miserable all summer. Of course the 1st time I slept under A/C was after entering the Air Force.

In the last few minuted the temp has dropped from 102, to 94.

Drought Withers Smallest Hay Crop in Century to Boost Beef Costs

The smallest U.S. hay crop in more than a century is withering under a record Texas drought, boosting the cost of livestock feed for dairy farmers and beef producers from California to Maryland.
.....
The drought, which is the worst ever in Texas, is compounding a hay shortage caused by farmers shifting this year to more profitable crops, including corn. The U.S. may harvest 57.605 million acres of hay in 2011, the least on records going back to 1909, U.S. Department of Agriculture data show. Corn was sown on 92.282 million acres, the second-most since 1944.

Ethanol Corn Grab

Surging demand from ethanol refiners, livestock producers and importers sent corn futures up 75 percent in the past year, as of yesterday. The U.S. is the world’s largest corn grower and exporter, and the government said June 9 that, for the first time ever, more of the crop will be used to make fuel than animal feed.

Most definitely. SW MO is more like what I grew up with back in suburban Chicago.
My first job with my new company had me traveling to AZ, just south of Bullhead City. Was there in May and I don't recall too many days then when the high was lower than 100.....but it was a dry heat. Got up to 112 while I was there, and according to a pastor I met at a church that I attended while I worked out there, they had a run of 115-120's this month. Just seemed odd that each time I left there at 4am to drive to the Las Vegas airport to come home it was in the low 90's.

115-120!!??!! Yikes! Give me the Great White North any day...

If I moved to Alaska the liberals would object that I was disturbing the delicate balance of the environment, and my presence might have the effect of encouraging oil companies to drill there, and if this happened, the US might become less dependent on imported oil and the effect of this might bring the price of gas down, which would supposedly be disastrous, liberals would say...
