I heard on the news, that next Friday's royal wedding is going to get wall to wall coverage in the US.

For ourselves, we are thouroughly fed up with hearing about it, already, and hope to leave the country for the day, however the ferry's website is overwhelmed at present, so I suppose everryone else wants to escape.

"Royal Weding"

Is that your understanding of American spelling?

I can't go out & play tennis that day - the club are holding a "street party." I'll have to take my wife & head for the hills.

No, it was a typo.

Yeah, I'm pretty tired of the hype, too. I truly hope that this marriage is happier than his parents' was. But I don't care about being deluged with it in the news. Kinda makes me mad - we have a POTUS that is bent on making America a third world country, and the media is focusing on the wedding.

Well, it seems that in the US you can get a replica of that ring for $29.95.

I have still not managed to book my ferry crossing for Friday on line, I may have to phone.

Oh, but salyan, it's a genuine replica!!!

Sorry, invicta, that you may not be able to escape the event...

About 25 years or so, ago, i was cycling past Buckingham Palace and going round one of the roundabouts (I think you may call them traffic circles) when a car hit me and threw me on to it's bonnet (hood) and when he saw me, braked and threw me off. I was taken to the London Hospital, but soon recovered.

My dad took me to Buck Pal on VE day and I climbed on one of the lions, and was told to get down by a policeman. I have seen film shots of people climbing on the lions, that day on TV, but have never managed to see me. Edited by Invicta

Oh, wow! That is neat! Did your dad get photos of you on the lion?

We do call them roundabouts (at least here in Indiana and in Ohio). We don't have many here, and the main one in the next city is hated by many people! I personally like them better, but there are a lot of people who don't.

The American Pastor we know in France, calls them traffic circles. To connect to another thread, I found him on David Cloud's list of Churches. His church is in Laon, France, we have visited that church once each year for the last four years or so.

Pastor Baughman is disabled and preaches from a wheelchair.

Its getting annoying now because farMVille has Royal Wedding stuff now. Everywhere I go on the web its has to do with the Royal wedding and I am not in England.

I won't be either, hopefully. I managed to book the car ferry to France for the day and though Friday is more expensive than midweek, it is still cheaper to take our car to France for the day with up to nine passengers than it is for two of us to take a train to London. I don't expect we will avoid all the hype, though. The French seem to be as taken with our Royals as everyone else. Well nearly everyone.
