When we were expecting our first child, a man in our chuch came up to us and gave us a minivan.
When Elizabeth got hit by a deer and knocked that van out of commission, a man from our church came up to us and gave us a minivan.
When a man in our chuch decided he no longer needed his minivan, he came up to us and gave us a minivan.

We have always been a 1 vehicle family - it is going to be odd to see 2 vans in the driveway now.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Now it's your testimony time. Give God the praise!

Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Those brethren who gifted you their vehicles have probably got a tight hold of this verse. Praise God!

Wonderful!

When I was living in Hopewell, VA, having moved there after I lost my job and my home and my car, and was staying weith my sister to  until I paid off my bills, one of the things I knew was that, once I had another vehicle, I could go back home to Reno, where the rest of my family was. One day, after about a year there, ther choir director from the church came to me and gave me his 83 Chevy Caprice Classic-it was their family trip car, but his kids were grown and they didn't need it. I informed him that if he gave it to me, it would fulfill the final thing I needed to go back home. He told me that though he didn't want to lose me in the choir, he knew it was God's will for him to give it to me.

Some years later, my wife was given $10,000 for a new vehicle, as she traveled quite a distance to her work. We bought a 2002 Land Rover, (biggest mistake of our life, by the way-they are over-priced junk). On retrospect we should have bought a Jeep and fixed her Blazer, and we still would have spent less. But hindsight is always 20.20, right? Still, it was a great blessing!

Was finishing our tour at Andrews AFB outside D.C. and wanted to go to Germany so we could be near my sister and family who were missionaries in France. God answered our prayers.

Was finishing 3 year tour in Germany and we requested to stay an additional year. God answered our prayers.

Was finishing our tour in Germany and requested for reassignment to the East Coast; God sent us all the way to Victorville, California. There we met Pastor Moffitt and family; who became our dearest friends for years.

I'm thankful that our Father loves us so much that he hears and answers our prayers; even when his answer is sometimes different from what we wanted. :godisgood:

While I don't have a great story of someone giving me a bunch of cash or a car, I do have what I consider just as much of a blessing/miracle.  I have two vehicles I have had since new, a 1985 Ford Ranger with 329,688 miles on it, and a 1995 Ford Escort with 283,511 miles on it.  Both with their original engines, transmissions, and other major drive-train parts.  I have never had a repair bill beyond normal expected routine maintenance, (brake shoes, alternator, belts, hoses, etc).  God provided for the children of Israel for 40 years in the desert by miraculously not allowing their shoes and clothing to wear.  The children of Israel were still in the same shoes they started their wandering in.  God takes care of his people in ways many fail to realize.  I believe God has made my vehicles, shoes, clothing, kitchen appliances, and a long list of other things last FAR longer than their expected lifetime.  I have kitchen appliances that are still in excellent working order that are "harvest gold" or "avocado green" in color.  That should date them for you if you have been alive long enough to remember the 70's.

In His will.  By His power.  For His glory

I bought a used Mercury hoping to get two or three years out of it while saving money for a better car. That Mercury served us great for seven years. Due to downsizing we were in a bad financial situation when our Mercury seemed to go from healthy to hospice in short order. A man we didn't know bought a new car but his old car, even though it had a lot of miles on it, was still in good condition so he donated to a man our pastor knows so he could pass it on to someone who needed it. Our pastor knew of our need, contacted his friend and he drove the car to our church and gave us that car. Our church even paid for the title transfer and the plates for the car as an extra, and much appreciated, gift.

God doesn't "poof" a brand new BMW into all our lives but He does provide for our needs in interesting ways!

These are all excellent stories. Would some of you be interested in sharing them on my website. It's not much of a place and I don't benefit from it. I started it all for people to see what a great God we serve. I haven't posted on it in a while myself because I'm running out of personal stories. Anyone interested feel free to post at the link below.

There is one thing that has happened to me over and over again no matter where I have been.

I have time and again come across turtles and tortoises. Two times crossing the road in front of me and about 6 times across my path since I was 6. I have found then in my yard, in the wild in streams while hiking, at a lake while fishing I caught one, across paths while hiking, and in the water swimming both in Hawaii and the Philippines.

The odds of one man who is not looking for turtles coming across them as often as I have are high.

I just figure the Lord is telling me to go slow and steady no need to rush.
