    The World

Job 5:6-9 (KJV) Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground; [7] Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward. [8] I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause: [9] Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:
  3. I had a guy in my church who quit Facebook and told me it was evil, he rejoined about 3 months later! I can understand why it's viewed as evil, there are very few controls on there, unlike this forum you can pretty much say/post anything evil you like, there are sick evil people on there who pretend to be someone they are not and take advantage of the gullible, take advantage of the youth who make up the majority of the membership. My wife and I have FB accounts, we have shared the lives of our children with our church & families in 5 different countries around the world, from pregnancy until now they have seen the photos and expressed their delight, this has been a blessing to us. My wife has 9 siblings on 3 different continents, she communicates with them regularly through FB. We also use it as a witnessing tool. So FB to us is a good thing, but we also see some of our nieces using it for evil and have removed them as friends, so you have to be vigilant with it in order to separate from the evil. It's just like living in this sin sick world, we are to be in the world but not of the world, you can be a member of Facebook and still be right with God!
  4. God converted a Pharisee (Paul) to take the gospel to us poor wretched Gentiles! Philippians 3:4-6 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: [5] Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; [6] Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. So we have Nicodemus and Paul who repented...
  5. "The day of the Lord" is an indepth study in itself, and not for the faint hearted, this "day" prophetically can incorporate over 1000 years time period from the Tribulation through to the Great White Throne judgment, so what I've said above will happen in "the day of the Lord."
  6. Believe what you want to believe Erik, you've got your doctrine wrong. At the end of the Tribulation is the 2nd Coming of Jesus Christ to this earth, when he comes back he will lift the current curse and "regenerate" the earth, NOT destroy it! Matthew 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. The regeneration lasts for 1000 years while Jesus rules and reigns, at the end the Devil is loosed and causes a final rebellion which God ends quickly. After this the Great White Throne Judgment takes place where the current heavens & earth flee away (Rev 20:11), and once this judgment is over God creates a new heaven & earth and makes all things new. This is clear by READING Rev 20:11 - 21:5. Revelation 20:11 ¶And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 21:1 ¶And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
  7. Erik you were only two verses short! See Rev 20:11 and note the words "the earth and the heaven fled away", that's the destruction of the current heavens and earth after the millennial reign of Christ, which fits with 2 Peter 3:12-13. Revelation 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
  8. I'm looking for the blessed hope, not the destruction of the world, that's not going to happen until after the 1000 year reign of Christ on this earth. Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; What job do you think the Holy Spirit has given you Eric?
  9. Heaven Came Down and Glory Filled My Soul
  10. I don't see any mention of watching for signs in this passage? For some reason, every Christian I've known who gets caught up in this idea of 'looking for signs' ends up becoming unbalanced in his doctrine and the so called signs become a stumbling block to him. Instead of looking for Jesus and witnessing of Him they dedicate themselves to witnessing end time prophecy and "signs" instead, it becomes a hobby horse to them and that's all they talk about. Eric, is this you??
  11. Well thanks anyway for whatever positive contribution you made to my thread, I must say the tone of your posts are very condescending and not very encouraging at all.
  12. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Colossians 4:6

  13. I love Christ and Truth as well but don't feel the need to preach to my brethren here, happy to discuss & have friendly debate but preaching across a computer screen often conveys the wrong intention, it requires godly discernment and the right timing. I'm a veteren on Christian internet forums, have started one myself and been a moderator of another, so know what I'm talking about.
  14. From my perspective, sitting here across the other side of the world reading your posts, you do seem to lack love and grace towards others at times. The above post is an example, I don't like to be called an "accuser", there's another entity who has that title and we have little in common!
  15. Now that's a constructive and edifying post, thank you! 1 out of 4 huh? Bit too high methinks, especially considering how little the Church seems to be soulwinning nowadays, me included!
  16. Hey you only bolded the good works park Jerry, we are supposed to provoke unto love too! So how about it huh, show a little love and let those of us who want to continue to discuss this wonderful subject do so.
  17. Then feel free to move along to another thread where your time will be better utilised, brother!
  18. So you are confident that the Bible says nothing more about the subject than we already know? That's a very bold statement. I'm of the opinion that the Bible has a lifetime of learning in it and that no one man can claim he know's it all. Take that passage I quoted earlier from Daniel, I had never seen that before last year, so I'm confident there's much more treasure in that Book to dig out. You can throw away your shovel if you like, I'm happy to continue the hunt.
  19. Fair comment. Sometimes we get caught up in the end time events looking for the Blessed Hope but forgot that He's still adding members to his Body, his Bride.
  20. I wouldn't use these examples to speculate the percentage of all those who will ever be saved. Your point that few were saved is made, but in these cases God only saved one family so it was much lower than 1%. I think it's healthy for us to consider the percentages of saved vs unsaved, puts things into perspective, and I know the topic has come up many times during Christian conversation over the years, so it is definately a subject of interest.
  21. "someday"? You really think the Lord will tarry that long?
  22. That's good stuff! In the bigger scheme of things a "few" of humanity over 7000 years will amount to millions, which is a significant number, so the number of the "many" who have and will perish is truly frightening!
