C.S. Lewis believed Christ was not omniscient while in the flesh. So I thought it may be something others might have more knowledge about. Here is what the ISBE said. Armed with this information please tell me your thoughts on the matter. Here is the question...

Was Christ omnisient in the flesh?

No time for research or great thinking, but offhand I recall at leasts a couple times when Jesus exhibited such. When calling the disciples Jesus told one of them He saw him, knew what he was doing earlier that day and that He knew he was a man of no guile. When talking with the woman at the well Jesus knew of the woman's history with men/husbands.

Yes. As Brother John said, He exhibited examples of such. It's just plain ridiculous to believe anything else; He was God.

C.S. Lewis was creepy...
God bless,

2 Chronicles 7:14.

Here's the statement I felt was very helpful but, folks need to read the link for ISBE.

But that ignorance in the intellect of the manhood is fully consistent with omniscience
in the person seems to be not merely a safe answer to the question as stated, but an
inevitable answer if the true humanity of Christ is to be maintained at all.

C. S. Lewis quote.

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to

Yes, it seems this man believed that Jesus was a good moral man, not "The Christ."

Jerry, this is not a Lewis fan club thread just a discussion of what folks believe about Christ's omniscience while in the flesh.
It's a "believe what you know and know what you believe" discussion. I know from reading Lewis he was confused on many points.

It called that a C. S. Lewis quote. If so, it shows what this man believed about Jesus. I saw this quote on a couple of more sites the quote proves he did not believe Jesus was omniscience, doesn't it? And the topic is replying to omniscience in the flesh, and of course Jesus was, being as He was God..

Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one

If Jesus was not omniscience, them God was not.

And of course, in the C. S. Lewis quote, he clearly says he does not accept Jesus as God, so he does not believe John 10:30.

I think I'm on the same page as you. And of course, some here might not understand how far off Mr. Lewis was, maybe all of this will help them.

The Bible seems clear Jesus was omnisient. There are several times when Jesus declared things He couldn't have known otherwise. There are times we are told Christ knew what various different people were thinking in their hearts.

While it's a difficult thing to grasp, Jesus was fully human and fully God. This is akin to God being One, yet the One True God comprises God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. Difficult for our finite minds to grasp, but true.

While I don't agree with C.S. Lewis on many things you are misrepresenting his quote here. He's not saying that he believed Jesus was just a good moral man. His first line states that he was trying to keep people from saying that particular thing concerning Christ.

No prOBlem, Bro. We all make mistakes from time to time. Maybe you'll be able to return the favor for me later on.

I've heard it taught that Christ was not omniscient until the Holy Spirit came down at His baptism....

Yes, I've heard that too.

I had a friend tell me it was a debated subject at the Christian University he attended. I don't know that the answer is found this side of heaven.
