How do you say the new year?

I must admit my son influenced me in saying "tenty-ten"...it just sound's fresh! Whatever we say it's His year!! I pray He work's in my heart although I know I don't desrve it!! I'm more comfortable with 2,010 because I've been saying 2,001 and so on for a while.

Yes, but when you speak of the 18-hundreds, and or the 19 hundreds, it sounds right, yet when you use it now that we are in the 20 hundreds, it just don't sound right.

I recall setting in study hall discussing with a class mate in 1965 about how we would say the year 2,000, we could not come up with anything that sounded right. We came to the conclusion that it was so far off we would never be bothered with it.
