My wife and I like spending time with each other looking for those elusive littla treasures at the end of the rainbow. If we find one thats great, if not thats great too. We've spent some quality time together without the hustle and bustle of this fast paced world. God knew what He was doing when He put so much beauty in this world. Stop and smell the roses. :amen:

I know of a missionary couple that is in need of more support. He and his family are back in the state trying to pickup more supporting churches. If any of you think your church may be interested in supporting another good missionary, let me know and I can send you his information and such.

(An oldie, but a goodie) There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live . So as she was getting her things 'in order,' she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in. Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. 'There's one more thing,' she said excitedly. 'What's that?' came the Pastor's reply. 'This is very impor…

At morning services I learned that Sarah Lay who is a member of our church, her brother Bo Bissell's, grand daughter was found murdered in her home early this morning by her husband in Livingston, LA when he came home from work at about 6:00 AM. That is what I knew up till just moments ago. I might add, Christa Ann Alexander was with child. I just check the news and there was an update, seems her husband did this to her. This morning as Linda and I were leaving church I told her, "Linda, I sure hope the husband did not do this," my worse fear seems to have come true. http://www.wafb.com/Global/story.asp?S= ... v=menu57_2 Livingston, LA is 416 miles from Nashvill…

My wife says the Christian woman should have just refered her to another counselor and not said why. I disagreed, saying we Christians are sacrificing too many freedoms to people who we know, ultimately want to eradicate Christianity. My wife, however, said that it's more important to keep your job and not cause trouble. The Alliance Defense Fund is assisting the woman in filing suit against the CDC and Computer Sciences Corp..

I don't know how many folks here use BJU's HomeSat (Trish does) but they are doing away with Satellite programming as of May 31st, 2009. http://www.bjupress.com/distance_learni ... .php#speci There is an uproar on the HomeSat yahoo! group about this. Most folks who use HomeSat need a teacher-led program because of having several children in different grades and simply can't afford the Hard drive option or the DVD options from BJU or ABeka. They are saying that in order to use any DVDs (after May, 2009) you have recorded at home, you still have to pay the monthly satellite subscription fee - even though there won't be anymore programming! I understand licensing fees…

Our Prognosis Is Terminal -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Jim R. Schwiesow -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Covenant News ~ July 16, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ?Whatever we once were, we?re no longer just a Christian nation; we are a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation and a nation of non-believers... -- Barack Hussein Obama "Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and started being used to drive us apart. It got hijacked. Part of …

1. What if we were as enthusiastic about the things of God as we are about our favorite sports team? 2. What if we were as willing to give to eternal things as we are to buying that new game or toy? 3. What if we gave the same priority to God that we give to our family? 4. What if we were as concerned for developing our children's spiritual health as we are about their physical health (or their athletic or social development)? 5. What if we enjoyed worship as much as we enjoy hitting the snooze alarm in the morning? 6. What if we were as committed to the Lord as we are to our favorite television program? 7. What if we loved serving Him as much as we love to ea…

Hello all. I have a question. Maybe even two. I wasn't sure where to put this in the forum so I decided to try it here. For some reason the topic about Baptists being Protestants keep coming my way. I do not believe that Baptists are or have even been Prosestant. So.....first question. Doesn't it mean to be Protestant, that ,that denomination came out of the Catholic church? Next question. Where can I find information that proves that Baptists are not Protestant? I even found a so-called Baptist web-site that stated the Baptist church branched off of Martin Luthur in the 1500's. Any help would be great. Thanks. …

"I Love My Church" Thread 1 2

I've seen a few topics lately of people complaining about the way some churches do things.... so I thought I'd start a positive topic! :Bleh How many of you go to a church that you really love? I mean... your pastor is definitely Spirit-led, your church family treats each other like a real family, you don't have any complaints about the way your church does things... For the first time in my life, I'm now at that place. Now that I'm married and serving with my husband in a church here in Ohio, I feel like I've finally found a church that I can call my "home church" without regretting it. Some things I really love about my church: 1. The preaching is very Biblica…

I gave away both our crib and toddler bed to ladies from our church. However, the lady that said she wanted the toddler bed hasn't emailed me back or anything. It has been almost 2 weeks and the bed is still sitting here, in our way. No, there isn't anywhere else I can move it. I have tried emailing her several times. Should I keep waiting or do something else w/ it?? I know love is patient....but gracious!

Hi Everybody, I welcome your opinions and dsicussions for a lively, controversial subject:::::: RAW MILK. This particular food commodity has proven to be a very healthy substance and yet it's purchase is banned in many states, and there is even an attempt to get it federally banned from bringing it across state lines. The following is a newspaper article from our local paper::::::::::

Communist Manifesto 1848. 1. Abolition of private property. 2. Heavy progressive income tax. 3. Abolition of rights of inheritance. 4. Confiscation of property rights. 5. Central Bank. 6. Government ownership of communication and transportation. 7. Government ownership of factories and agriculture. 8. Government control of labor. 9. Corporate farms, regional planning. 10. Government control of education. Are we getting close? The subject of privacy and freedoms in this country was brought up, so I thought it interesting to list this for the thoughts and views of the folk here on OB. Also compare this list with the Executive orders of FEMA. I us…
