A sermon compilation from various preachers. I am not familiar with all of them except Ian Paisley. All of them preach on the matter of hell. This is a very sobering message. It has effected me in a great manner; comparable to as much as Ten Sheckels and a Shirt did. I urge you to listen to the 2 part compilation. Part 1 http://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/visit.php?lid=15351 Part 2 http://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/visit.php?lid=15352 Note: I do not necessarily endorse everything from the website and speakers.

I bought the domain DYPF.com several years ago. I had intentions of using it some day to promote pray. It stands for Did You Pray First? I never did anything with it, but lately I've been wondering about designing some logos, t-shirts, bracelets, etc using the initials and the phrase, then advertising it across my other sites. I can get the stuff produced via cafepress, and I know I can make some nice designs. But I wonder if it would be too commercialized? I like the message, and we need the money, but would combining the two be right?

You can't even watch the news during this time of year (Halloween) without being accosted by a trailer for a slasher movie. Just the commercial for that trash (Saw V) makes my stomach turn. I don't understand what anyone would see in a movie like that, it's just pure evil if you ask me. The amazing thing to me is that it is only rated "R." Why in the world wouldn't they rate that "X?" To me that junk is even more offensive than those movies with immodestly dressed women and men. I just don't understand the depth of the depravity of man. I suppose if I truly did I would cry continually over our (humanity) sins without ceasing.

If anyone's interested, I started a blog. It's mainly for close family and friends, but I'd love to hear input from you all (as long as it's not too scathing!). I don't think it would be all that interesting to you all who don't really know us. And just warning you - it plays music, so if you have your speakers turned up way loud for whatever reason, you may want to turn them down before going to the blog. I hate it when I accidentally leave the speakers turned up and then go to some site that has music playing and surprises me.

What are the top ten character traits we Christians should be concerned about? If you wish, please share successes you have had in changing bad character traits to good ones or what you are doing now in this area.

State's High Court Okays Same-Sex Marriage in a 4-3 Decision Connecticut's Supreme Court ruled Friday that same-sex couples have the right to marry, making that state the third behind Massachusetts and California to legalize such unions. The court ruled 4-3 that gay and lesbian couples cannot be denied the freedom to marry under the state constitution, and Connecticut's civil unions law does not provide those couples with the same rights as heterosexual couples. Bro Matt, Do you know any organization that is effectively fighting this perversion that I can volunteer to assist?

Crafts for 4th-6th graders
by Guest Guest- 3 replies

Does anyone know of any good craft books for 4th-6th graders, and where we can get them? My husband and I teach the 4th-6th grade class in the Master Clubs program at our church, and the lady who does crafts (for all classes) is always having a hard time finding something interesting for our students to do. They're at the age where they get bored with little kids' crafts... but it seems like all the Bible craft books are written for kids under 10 years old. We'd prefer to have something with a Bible theme... or at least something that can be adjusted to go with a Bible story. Even if it's a good website that you can recommend, or any craft ideas that you've used before…

I bailed ship and sold most of our mutual fund, keeping just enough in there to keep it open. THat is our "just in case money". We couldn't afford to loose that. However, our IRAs lost close to 30% yesterday!! OUCH! Michael hasn't checked our TSP yet. ANyone else loose anything yesterday?

One of my old single's pastors who used to be so biblical and Christ-centered is now reading emergent books and bragging about wearing his Obama shirt and other singles in my old church doing the same. Was it that these people were never studying their bible and never were discipled or are these people false converts who have been living a lie and now since the church is such a mess can latch on to the wolves like Mclaren and Rob bell. This gets me so fired up. 2 Thessalonians 2 1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by …

How long have you been a member of OB? It's been about 2 1/2 years for me. It took me a while to keep everyone straight around here and I get confused all over again when a bunch of new people join at once.

Saving money 1 2

In the tough economic times that we are in right now, I was curious how many of you are trying to save money and how you are doing it. I thought it would be neat to have a whole thread on ways we can save. We are doing some interesting things lately. I'll just name a couple. 1. I am making almost all of my breads homemade now (and that is a whole LOT of it!). 2. I'm making my own laundry detergent from washing soda, borax and soap flakes, using vinegar for softener...it is "green" and cheap.

(Copy and paste them and answer) 1. What sort of napkin holder do you use on your table? 2. Do you have scented candles burning in your home ever? If so, how often? 3. What's one of your favorite things about Autumn? 4. How often do you go for walks? 5. Is your garage or shed organized and basically clean? (if you have either)

Fan use linked to lower risk of sudden baby death By CARLA K. JOHNSON, Associated Press Writer 13 minutes ago CHICAGO - Using a fan to circulate air seemed to lower the risk of sudden infant death syndrome in a study of nearly 500 babies, researchers reported Monday. Placing babies on their backs to sleep is the best advice for preventing SIDS, a still mysterious cause of death. Experts also recommend a firm mattress, removing toys and pillows from cribs, and keeping infants from getting too warm. Such practices helped slash U.S. SIDS deaths by more than half over a decade to about 2,100 in 2003. But SIDS remains the leading cause of death in infants ages 1 mon…

As many of you know Online Baptist was down today. Somehow one of the tables on Online Baptist got corrupted and needed repair. Unfortunately, this could not be done in Cpanel because the table was damaged too bad, so it had to be done with SSH/shell access on the server. Since I was not home at the time (can you believe that I do not live on the computer? :lol ) I had to wait till I got home to fix the database. All is well again and hopefully it does not happen again. I apologize about the down time.

I know there are lots of studies and theories on what causes SIDS. It's so hard to know who to listen to concerning it. So, I'm just wondering if any of you have your own theories on what causes SIDS to happen to babies?
