Thanksgiving was yesterday, yes, but I think it would be nice if we just named some things we were thankful to God for. I'll do a post later, too. God bless, Crushmaster.

I was wondering if anyone knew when, if ever, the Bible provides justification for violence. The reason I ask is this: We support our troops who are killing others in defense of our country, yet I never here anyone suggest that it is ok to do the same in defense of our faith. My own church is being torn apart due to the enemy's infiltration of our leadership and I feel we are coming to a head. I'm not suggesting or promoting violence as a means of solving this prOBlem (at least not at this point), but would like to know if there is ever a situation where it is a suitable means of resolution. We don't sit by and let others attack our country. Are we supposed to sit…

Here is an intresting question...The KJV1611 is well documented as far as the men who translated it and the situation surrounding the reason for it's translation. What about the Great Bible? King Henry approved on the translation of this being the first Authorized Version. I have never seen to much info on the Great Bible in all my research. What does anyone know about this? I will take some time to research this. Those of you who are intrested on this topic research it too. When I come back to work in three days lets place down some of the main points we have learned. I hope this is a good openner. God Bless!!!!!

Women health care in most cases takes a back seat because of the multitude tasks she has to undertake. Health care for women means extra nutrition and care especially when they cross the age of 30. They should follow specific diet tips and develop a healthy eating habit. Diseases that are common in women are anemia, anxiety, depression, osteoporosis, migraine, weight gain and weakness.

I get annoying calls from telemarketers at least 3-5 times a day and I was wondering if there anything I can do about this? Sometimes I've missed important calls as a result of turning my ringer off because of these telemarketing calls. Love, Madeline

I try to read "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis at least once a year and did so during some recent travel. The author is a former atheist who doesn't seek to promote any particular view within Christianity, but rather explains, from an intellectual and personable standpoint, why Christianity (as opposed to other faiths) is the only religion that "makes sense." He does a great job at pointing out why Christianity's view towards sex (blantantly calls homosexuality a perversion), marriage and morality is the only view which is just and reasonalbe. He also does a great job with virtue and hell and why it is only fair for nonbelievers to go to hell. It's a great book for t…

Adnan Oktar, of Turkey is proposing a New Islamic Empire lead by Turkey, home of the former Ottoman Empire. We often equate Rome as "The City on Seven Hills," when thinking of Babylon the Great, but did you know that Istanbul is also "The City of Seven Hills?" Also, modern scholars have scoffed for years about the practice of beheading during the Tribulation. In light of our conflict with Islamic extremism, who is doing the beheading these days? Could Islam be the glOBal religion that antichrist uses? Just some concepts to consider. Bro. Ben

The Little Baptist written by J. M. Martin published by Bogard Press. Its a reprint, 182 pages. A small book about a young girl from a Presbyterian family whose brother gives her a Bible as he is leaving for college. She starts calling this Bible a Baptist Bible for she discovers baptizing and works do not save you as the Presbyterian Church teaches. It would be a great book to put in the hands of those who are not saved and or those who believe baptizing and works is the path to heaven. After I started reading it I could not put it down until the end.

If there are other posts about this here I've managed to miss them. This is rather big news but I've not seen it discussed here. What do y'all think about this? A Muslim girl converted to Christianity and then ran away from home (from Ohio to Florida). She stayed there with some Christian friends and claimed she feared for her life if she was with her Muslim parents. The courts and Christian groups intervened for her. It's been reported there is no credible threat to her if she returns to her parents. Even so, the Florida judge has been engaging in stalling tactics rather than sending her back to her family or sending her back to an Ohio court. Some Christian gro…

[book] Bringing Children to Salvation by Doug Hammett. I bought this off a book table last week at a Bible conference out in Salt Lake City. I thought it was quite good and made a lot of sense. It is 84 pages, spiral bound, about $6, and I found it on the internet when I googled it.

Religious illiteracy alarms educators MONTREAL -- Half of American high-school seniors surveyed recently thought Sodom and Gomorrah were a married couple. A McGill University professor's reference to the patience of JOB drew blank stares from students in his religion course. An art history teacher in France found children were mystified by the "strange bird" (a dove representing the Holy Ghost) common in Renaissance paintings. Until recently, such confusion was little more than fodder for faculty-room jokes, evidence of the increasing secularism of Western societies. But educators attending a conference at McGill University yesterday heard there is growing recognitio…

So if you were walking down the street today and found $100.00, what would you spend it on? Of course I assuming that you get to keep the $100.00. Would you save it? Me, I probably would take Trish out to eat at a really nice restaurant.

New Research Explores How Different Generations View and Use the Bible OctOBer 19, 2009 As OBservers of American culture debate whether the nation has entered a post-Christian phase, one overlooked discussion is how attitudes about and usage of the Bible may be changing. A new research report from the Barna Group examines recent nationwide studies on how different generations of American adults view and use the Bible. For the purposes of this research, the Mosaic generation refers to adults who are currently ages 18 to 25; Busters are those ages 26 to 44; Boomers are 45 to 63; and Elders are 64-plus. Generational Similarities There is often more that unites …

Sensible Gun Registration Plan
by Guest- 13 replies

This may be a prank...it's all over the internet but without any credible source. That said, I like it! Holster...what's your take on it? A Sensible Gun Registration Plan That Will Work Vermont State Rep. Fred Maslack has read the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as well as Vermont 's own Constitution very carefully, and his strict interpretation of these documents is popping some eyeballs in New England and elsewhere. Maslack recently proposed a bill to register "non-gun-owners" and require them to pay a $500 fee to the state. Thus Vermont would become the first state to require a permit for the luxury of going about unarmed and assess a fee of $5…
