Well its been prOB a year since I was on last... Its good to see familiar names on here.... I just thought I would drop a line really quick... Life got hard for awhile so I decided to join the Military and get back in school... Well I left for BMT three months ago and now I am in Mississippi. Sunday Lord willing will be the first time I have gotten to go to a real church since the sunday before I left. I went every week in Bmt but for any Veterans out there you know how churches are on base... They put several faiths together and I just didn't feel happy there... I have someone that lives in the local area that offered to let me ride with them... The only thing that I …

These are questions for thought, and I world like to see some opinions. In your opinions, what would happened if drugs were made legal? Would things be better or worse? Wasn't it in the early 1900's when they were made illegal? Did things get better after this? Is the main goal of drugs being illegal actually a way for big business, drug companies even the pharmacy and doctors to make money by being the only legal way to obtain such drugs? I started this topic here because of this topic, I didn't want to hijack it. BEWARE! Afghanistan South viewtopic.php?f=13&t=25953

Sometime ago, a newspaper carried a story about Mrs. Lila Craig. 81, who had not missed in her church attendance in 1,040 Sundays, a perfect record for twenty years. With tongue in cheek, the writer asked, "What's Wrong With Mrs. Craig? Doesn't Mrs. Craig ever have company on Sunday? Doesn't she ever go anywhere on Saturday night so that she gets up tired on Sunday morning? Doesn't she ever have a headaches, colds, nervous spells, tired feelings, poor breakfasts, sudden trips out of the city, Sunday picnics, family reunions? Doesn't she ever sleep late on Sunday morning? Doesn't she have any friends who invite her to go on a weekend trip? Doesn't she ever read the …

I'm writing an article which lays out the gospel for a Christian magazine that has a somewhat liberal audience. Here is my first draft. It turned out a bit longer than I originally wanted it, but I think this length is OK. Any corrections or suggestions? ___________________________________________________________________ Some people might disagree, but in reality, good people go to Heaven and bad people go to Hell. All you have to do to go to Heaven is be a good person. Simple enough, right? Most people are basically good, right? How about you? Are you a good person? How do you and how can you know? By what standard can we measure? If we want to know if we will make it…

Okay, so I asked about Billy Graham last week.....this week is Adrian Rogers. He is most commonly known for his program "Love Worth Finding" and pastoring a very large church. He has been accused of getting caught up in money instead of souls by some, but others have praised his powerful and convicting preaching along with what some call his "depth of knowledge". What are your thoughts. I look forward to all comments. God Bless, Futurehope

I helped a homeless man, by giving him food and water. I wasn't looking for praise, admiration or anything else, just to help. But my aunt has criticised my motives in wishing to help people. She says it's down to pride. She tells me that my main sins are pride and conceit. Now, if I'm honest, I'm sure that, deep down, when I was helping the man, there was a sense of pride somewhere in the mix of motives. Altruim, yes, but I can't categoricaly deny the presence of pride. I'm not saying that such motives are right, but if I waited till my motives were completely pure, I'd never do anything. (Who would?) It's OBviously better if pride isn't a motivating factor at all…

Our 20-something group is going through this book during the week and discussing it at our weekly meetups. This is actually our last week for it. It's a really interesting book by Tim Keller. I was unfamiliar with him, initially, but I like how he's taken the story of the prodigal son and taken it back to the focus that Christ initially had and to the point He was trying to make. Christ's audience was the pharisees and the point was made with the elder brother towards the end of the story that we often forget nowadays. Keller took a good look at both the elder and younger brother in this book and did a great jOB making applications and illustrations of both.

At a time when our president and other politicians tend to apologize for our country's prior actions, here's a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments about our country. JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when De Gaulle decided to pull out of NATO. De Gaulle said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible. Rusk responded "does that include those who are buried here? De Gualle did not respond. You could have heard a pin drop. When in England , at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq w…

for now. I'm taking off for WA state for a couple of weeks. Sunday is my gma's 100th birthday, so I'm going to be there for that and stay through Thanksgiving. I'm getting excited, except that my hubby can't go with me. And our son won't be able to make it here to spend Thanksgiving with his dad. It's odd - this is the first time in our marriage that we've not spent Thanksgiving together - and the first time since our son was born that we all 3 weren't together. Bittersweet.

Rush Limbaugh radio today... (slightly paraphrased) Caller: Rush, I know Billy Sunday had several campaigns in Cape Girardeau. Do you happen to know how he became a Christian? Rush: He was born into it just like me. His family was a Christian family so he was a Christian. . .

We haven't had cable in so many years (praise the Lord!) but we do have a television to watch videos with. It seems as though we are having a hard time finding a new movie to watch these days. Some of our movies: Fireproof, Sheffey, Facing the Giants, The Hiding Place, OBstacle to Comfort: The Life of George Muller, Swiss Family ROBinson, Mary Poppins, the Love Comes Softly series, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Sergeant York, The Apple Dumpling Gang, An American Tale, Old Yeller, The Yerling, The Fox and the Hound, Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, and more (I can't remember them all). : ) I'm open to suggestions to help perk up our movie nights with somethin…

Without the picture this would be unbelievable:::::::: Pogo Moose Incident - Fairbanks , Alaska "They were laying new power cables which were strung on the ground for miles. The moose are rutting right now and very agitated. He was thrashing around and got his antlers stuck in the cables. When the men (miles away) began pulling the lines up with their big equipment, the moose went up with them. They noticed excess tension in the lines and went searching for the prOBlem. He was still alive when they lowered him to the ground.. He was a huge bull with a 60 inch rack and was slightly peeved from the ordeal!" LOL

I've read about and heard about 'Sheperding a Child's Heart' quite a few times before. The last time I heard of it was from a friend at church, who brought it up in our conversation. She also brought up another book as well, a book I have never heard of before which was titled 'Don't Make Me Count to Three'. Have you read either of these two books? What did you think about them? The only Christian parenting book that I have read and loved, was a book by David Sorenson, titlled, 'Training Your Children to Turn Out Right--A Biblical Guide for Christian Parents'. Thanks. : )

I just thought I would post this and see if there are any other Denver Broncos' fans out there to grieve with after this loss against the Steelers. Very pathetic game on the Broncos part. The first half went well, and then after half time the Broncos fell apart and the Steelers stepped it up. GOOOOOOOOO BRONCOS!!!!
