I've always wondered how Christians organize their daily activities. I don't understand how can a person fit work, prayer, Bible reading, study and memorization, cooking, raising children (especially women), cleaning and other similar tasks, all in one day. I know that daily prayer and Bible reading are essential, but studying is also very important. All these activities take significant time. I hope this thread will turn out well. Please delete the other one.

Do you know anything about the Community Christian Fellowship? I googled it (several in several states) went to their web page and looked over their statement of faith (We Believe) and at a glance it appears OK. But they have a "mysterious" membership method, "Discover" and "S.H.A.P.E." that isn't disclosed? Also, I googled "Women of Purpose Fall Retreat" which was mentioned under CCF "Ministries" but, I refer to our ladies for comment on this.

Anyone notice that forums overall seem to be slowing down for the most part? I thought about why, and I think its because of Facebook and other networking sites. Forums are becoming less needed for fellowship I guess. I only visit one forum that is still as active as it ever was and that's a cake forum but its the biggest cake decorating site on the net.... otherwise seems like most forums are slowing down. Just an OBservation.

Recently my mom was fired from her jOB due to another employee. I invited this person to church a month before it happened. I also gave her a copy of Fireproof to watch with her husband. She came to work on Thursday saying the movie really touched her. She wanted to come to church. I just finished Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis. The book is kind of old (late 1980's I think) and was made into a movie in the early 90's (haven't seen movie, heard it is vastly different from the book). Although I didn't care for a lot of the content (drug use, promiscuity), I thought the theme was oustanding for a young man of Ellis' age (he wrote it when he was only 19). Many years ago I came across a sermon an IB preacher named Gary Dice when he visited Australia, and from memory he was preaching on this passage, or at least referencing it. He sang a slightly silly song about this section of Romans 7, but I have never been able to find any reference to it anywhere else. I would appreciate it if anyone has heard of it and could give me a reference or link to it, or best case, the sheet music. I know there are many songs that come up when you do a google search, but none of them have been the one I am looking for. It has the words almost direct from the KJV, not just something loosely based on that text. Thanks folks. -

I also noticed he seems quieter, perhaps more humble this time. But even last time I had come to view his particular tendency to boast as just having an immensely positive attitude. He's also careful to thank others and to offer credit where credit is due, while having no compunctions about calling out anyone who deserves none. -

Just to clarify on the repenting God did when Israel turned from their evil ways. The thing here is that their turning from evil ways here is called... works. So since salvation isnt by works ..and turning from evils ways IS works.. hence the issue with repent meaning 'turn from sin'. So there is what I was meaning. -

Thankfully the pastors I know NEVER STOPPED preaching the gospel. Remember, TGL, they're to preach the whole counsel of God, not just salvation messages. And just to be clear, preaching messages that promote conservative, Biblical values is imperative. Maybe one should let the Holy Spirit guide in what these pastors preach, eh?
