there is a guy in our karate association that I feel has some serious emotional issues. he seems to crave attention and he will make up stories to get it. well, a few weeks ago he claimed to have been attacked by someone high on drugs and he had to defend himself and the guy ended up dying. well, this past weekend he claimed he had been stabbed several times in a fight, and the story was suspicious so the leadership checked into things and learned that the other story was a lie too. My sister and I will be flying out to Missouri next week to hopefully be able to see our dad one more time. He is going on 95 yrs old, and so has had a long life. He is in a nursing facility back there and is fading swiftly. Our oldest sister lives back there, and so we 3 sisters will be going thru our dad's house to get it ready to sell. It's going to be a very difficult process going thru belongings but prayerfully will also be a help in saying "goodbye". I am a student at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, OR and I also work there. I was in class today, but on the opposite end of campus from the shooting. Please pray for our community. Also, please don't believe everything you are hearing on the various news channels, some of what I have heard is ridiculous and I and anyone who knows the campus and area at all, know can't be true. My family has all gathered at the hospital here in Reno. My father got a blood clot in his leg, which would have seemed to be easy enough to deal with. However, the bloodthinners didn't do much good, but caused him more bleeding elsewhere, so he lost his leg. Unfortunately, he seems to have grown new clots further up the leg, so they are looking at having to take it off higher,at the hip, which means a colostomy, can't even sit up. They are hoping the clot is in a place they can operate directly on the clot and try to save the rest of the leg. There was a lady in June who came to our church one Sunday morning. She had been walking down the road and said she felt compelled to come inside. At first she just sat down on the steps outside, but the compulsion was so strong she finally did go inside. At the end of service she went forward. My husband and I were not there as we were away because of his monthly military commitment. The next day our tent meetings began and she came, testified and went forward again. However, she didn't come back any of the following evenings, and she never came back to the church. we just got home from a prayer breakfast. the plan was to pack the car and leave for our cabin for a much needed rest. well, hubby went out to water plants and discovered that our strawberry plants are gone. he continued looking around and found a container of liquid out back of our garage with a rag sticking out of it. we have called the police and are waiting for them to get here. now I am concerned about leaving, because if we do there will not be anyone to keep an eye on our place. hubby now believes it is the beginnings of a meth lab. the police don't seem to be in a hurry to get here.

...and not just because she's married to me. Found out early this AM that she has an inflamed Gall Bladder that must be removed. Surgery will be some time tomorrow (9/8/15) morning. I found out this morning that my mother has breast cancer .mom is 86 and her health has been declining for the past year and she has told her doctors that she doesn't want treatment she knows the pain and sickness that she will face but she says she's ready to go home to be with the Lord, I kindly ask that you will pray that the lord comfort her,feeling her with His wonderful peace until He calls her Home Thank you and God Bless.

Please pray for my mother who is 63 and having a total knee replacement done Wed. morning. She has a blood clottiing issue that complicates it also. I'm just very nervous about this surgery in general. Afraid they'll find something like cancer in her or something. She's my best friend forever. I'll be with her during her hospital stay and I will stay at her house a few weeks while she's in recovery. She won't be able to drive for 6 weeks. PLease pray on Wed. morning.

Prayers needed again for me as I've been having strange digestive and intestinal/ colon problems! Haven't been to the doctor yet and fearful of going there!? Magda came to us about 25 years ago as a refugee from Sudan - a true Christian, not an "ethnic" Christian like her relatives who came at the same time. She has fluent Arabic & English. We have supported her, as she trained for missionary service. Her first service was with Arabic radio. Currently she is based in London, at a centre that reaches Muslim families, particularly women seeking to learn English, & children, and handles Internet enquiries from Arab countries. Cranford Baptist Church is holding its Holiday Bible Club this week, with the help of a team from Carey Baptist Church 25 miles away. Last week we distributed 2,000 invitations, & today 54 youngsters came for Bible stories, songs, quizzes & games. About 15 would be already known to the church. It was a mix of many races & religions. I'm not taking an active part, but was there to talk to parents who stayed to listen - & I think the contact with the parents is an important part of the outreach. If they are interested, they & the children will come after the week is ended. Many churches are holding such activities, so general prayer is welcomed.

Well I have had it in my heart for a while to write a commentary/exposition on Song of Solomon. I spent an hour on it tonight, I got the introduction and up to 1:2 done. It is going to take me quite a while. I ask that you pray that God would bless this work, I have no idea why God put it in my heart to write this, and it is my hope to maybe get in into print or even e-book format. I just want people to be pointed to Jesus Christ by this!

So when reading we see four types of grounds that the seed fell upon. After struggling with a sin, since coming to Christ I really wonder if i am one of the 3 bad grounds. What little I know of Scripture tells me when dealing with this sin of fornification (porn addiction) God will help to provide an answer, I Corithians 7:2; Hebrews 13:4 but as I continue in a losing battle, I not only learn to hate myself, but I don't fell to kind toward God. This sin controls my members so that i am in bondage to it, . Romans. 6:13 just waiting for God great judgment as I havre pleaded for mercy, . I Corinthians 3;16-17

I usually don't start threads, but I need some serious prayer at this time. I am having a lot of spiritual issues in my life, and am seriously doubting my own salvation as a result, even though I have been a believer for several years. I am in the process of trying to seek proper Biblical counseling. I think I am rock bottom spiritually at this point in my life. Please pray I will get the proper help.

My birth father's hospice nurse and doctor have given him a few days at the most to live. We have witnessed to him several times, sent him Gospel tracts and prayed for him for the past 40 years. He did ask for a preacher to come and talk to him, and my niece's pastor went and talked to him. At any rate, Pop can't keep anything straight now, and his organs have started to shut down. I spoke to him for just a few minutes last evening and told him I loved him. I know I won't be able to speak with him again. His passing will bring it's own set of challenges as my stepmom is starting to go into full blown Alzheimer's. There's only her sister left to care for her after Pop passes. Please pray for this whole situation and for my Pop's peaceful passing. My wife and I won't be able to make a trip up to Corydon IN , and he wants no services or memorials. Thanks in advance BT -

Yeppers... many of us have noticed how over the past 50+ years Tom Turkey has been pushed off the road by the fat man in the bright red suit, flying around with his eight tiny reindeer! LOL The over commercialization of Christmas has gotten way out of hand! My parents Western Wear Store would NEVER allow Thanksgiving to be bypassed. None of the decorations for Christmas at their store came out until BLACK FRIDAY. I'm thankful for that. 🤠 -

Have we fallen short in baptisms? And why are baptisms being used as a measure for how strong churches are? Many pastors have seen the futility and falseness of dunking people just for the numbers? They've come to the realization that people need to understand what baptism is, and in the true discipling of people first. In the days of Christ people understood the implications of being baptized into this new religion called Christianity. They could be kicked out of the synagogues, lose their livelihoods, and even their lives. That's exactly what Saul of Tarsus was doing before he had his encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus.
