Is anyone else on here afraid to read the news lately? I glanced at the fox news home page today which was littered with our gov't asking for "tattle tales" on "healthcare misinformation" and a whole slew of articles on H1N1 and possible gov't over-reaction to such. Terrorism occupied what little space was left. My inbox has been inundated with e-mails from various conservative sources as well as from our gov't on healthcare issues, the recent judge Sotomayor confirmation etc. Every day it seems it is all just escalating. At church, everyone is mostly silent, as it seems on here.

I'm not afraid to read it - but it's pretty predictable. Some of it makes me quite angry (like the nonsense coming from the White House and congress, trying to make those who don't trust the "reform" look like terrorists, nazis and worse). Some of it is predictable. Our country is going downhill faster than fast! JESUS IS COMING SOON!!!

Yes, I would agree that much is predictable, but WOW, LuAnne, I really can't believe how fast things are coming at us! I cannot believe how many areas of freedom seem to be under attack.............all at the same time.

The groundwork had been laid quite well since FDR's time - slowly, slowly. Added onto by POTUS' who convinced the American public that government programs were good and helpful (the Great Society of L. Johnson, which basically enslaved Appalachian folks to dependence on welfare for generations, etc.).

Then, BO got elected. The extreme hype of the media, the hysteria that was generated by those who wanted a black POTUS (which I don't mind...what I mind is that it alone was basis for many, many votes), the billions of dollars poured in to get air time to promote BO's policies (by Soros and others who want socialism - who put enough money out to actually steal the senatorial election in Michigan!), etc...gave BO and the Dems the idea that we were willing, for the most part, to lay down and let them roll over us. I personally believe that BO knows his policies are so anti-American that he knows he has to push things as fast as possible to keep from being removed. That's just my opinion, and I know those who support BO will disagree, but that's okay.

I saw the news this evening where right wingers were shouting down a congressman, it may have been a senator, like a mob. Not the way to get your views across. Apparently it is happening all over the US. And then there was that foolish woman, Palin, saying that a govt committee would decide if you received treatment.

Fortunately there is a good portion of America which is not about to surrender to socialism without a fight. I predict the democrats will lose badly in the next election, they failed to understand they were voted into power in large part by people who were sick of bush rather than by people enthralled with the idea of big government.

No, I'm not afraid to read the news. It reminds me of God's truth each time I hear of the world's troubles.

Well, number one, the media is not showing all of the town hall meetings. What they are not showing is the arrogance that the speakers are bringing. And, I'm sorry, Invicta, it's not all "right wingers." Many of these people who are extremely upset are liberal Democrats! Yes, it is happening all over the US because the majority of citizens do not want this so-called reform. The anger is showing because those in congress refuse to listen. They haven't read the bill, they just want to push it through.

As for Palin - you may think she's foolish, but she isn't really. She has been selectively made to seem that way by the press. But she is right on the money that the government will decide if one receives treatment...it's in the bill.

Seems at the town hall meetings the speakers are not really addressing the issues at hand, and not telling the truths about what this health care reform will really be, but trying to hide the truths.

So that aggravates many of the people who are present, all they want is for the speaker to tell the truth.

But I can see the speakers point, I can see the protesters point, if the speakers revealed the truths about this health reform bill even many more would come out against it.

All this health care reform is about, is limiting health care, limiting health care is the only way they can cut the cost of health care, President Obama is doing everything he can to limit health care to all Americas except for those who are in the boat with our congressmen, they've got the best health care that our tax money can buy.
