That's why it makes perfect sense for it to read' date=' "but to us who ARE BEING SAVED," or are being delivered from death.[/quote']

Having a hard time making up your mind? Is it being saved from death or from Hell. The Christian is SAVED ALREADY from Hell - he is not "being saved." His salvation is eternal - finished, complete - not ongoing. The effects are ongoing. By the way, there are more verses in the NKJV that teach about "being saved" - not just one.

Nice try - scare tactic - just like the Charismatics use - However God Himself tells us to test all things. God is not going to "preserve His Word" by throwing out the preserved manuscripts and using corrupt ones that were unavailable for hundreds of years.

You are very much in danger of being deceived by the devil and apostate Christendom in thinking that truth doesn't matter, that you can play around with the text of the Bible and still have "the preserved Word of God." Guess what - you introduce some error into the mix and it is no longer "preserved."

No, blurring the lines and making truth subjective is what is going to hurt the body of Christ.

heylel: From 1984 (in the sense of brightness); the morning star--Lucifer.

Morning star is the literal rendering of heylel. Hence, "son of the morning."

thanks for your time to look up this word according to James Strong ( How much do you know about this man BTL? He had a big problem with the Scriptures back in his day, do you know what that was? from his definition of Lucifer you should become a little alert about this--- hmmm?)

So, Strong calls Lucifer the morning star.....?

"I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and offspring of David, and the bright and morning star." (REV. 22:16)

One last wish for you BTL, you need to check into Mr. Strong----- you will/ should be shocked as to what you may find out about him....

Woeks just right, like it was menat for it.[/quote]
I think we ought to remember that, whether we like the version or not, it still contains(at the very least) God's Word and we should never show disrespect towards it.

Why? Cult literature still contains SOME of the Word of God - should we respect it and give it a place in our bookshelves? I destroy corrupt Bibles the same way I destroy corrupt literature - rip it or burn it. The only mvs I have any use for are ones I have kept to be able to show others the differences between them, between them and the KJV, the contradictions within them, etc, the omissions, additions, and corruptions of the text.

Truth Ashlee.

Consider.

How come the Gideon's are/were allowed to pass out NKJV at Catholic schools and institutions, but were vehemently prohibited to give out the KJV? :uuhm:

I have three New King James Bibles which two are personalized and one is collectible. They are all precious Moments. I don't use these Bibles I use the King James Bible. The New King James Bibles I have are put up and kept in a collection spot because they were gifts and collectibles.

Having grown up in a works based heretical bible cult, it allows me personally to appreciate the KJV in a unique way I believe. There is something ready and willing in the fallen human spirit that wants to work for God. That "work" delivers a satisfaction that I don't think people can understand that have otherwise been taught sound bible doctrine.

Of course for the hired hand, there is payment at the end of the day. After he is paid, he is dismissed. Not so with the Children... they don't get paid because they are already heirs of it all.

The unsaved but thoughtful man WANTS to work for God, it makes him feel good. He is already pre-disposed to be deceived because of his sin nature.

The wording of the NKJV (as over abundantly illustrated on this thread) and other MV's that allow room for a works based salvation simply provide ammunition for the heretical teacher.

I started going to an Independent Baptist church not because I knew a bunch about them.... I knew nothing in fact. I started going there because I was taught every false doctrine imaginable .... all backed up by the Jehovah's Witness bible of course. The IFB were the only guys I could find preaching from the KJV. My studies had eventually led me to believe all other MV's were inferior.

I have put together many charts comparing several bible versions' treatment of the fundamental life-saving doctrines of the bible.

Any that are interested may find them at my website here: www.word-famine.com

Here is my take on Justification:

And to think that I was going to ask someone to outline some differences or tell me where I can find a chart on the differences in the KJV and the NKJV since I haven't actually studied it out yet. Am I safe to ask?

I would encourage you to read any threads on the NKJV that might be in this forum - then feel free to ask more questions in some of those threads. We have no problems trying to show you what is wrong with some MVs. The problems come when people just want to argue or defend something that most members believe is corrupt. Obviously, if someone is pro-MVs, they will not be convinced there is anything wrong with them, including the NKJV.

Just to make it clear, I am a firm believer in the KJB. I just haven't had (taken) the opportunity to study out the inconsistancies b/t the KJB and the NKJV like I have some of the other MVs. Is there actually a website or other tool that gives the specific verses that don't line up? Honestly, wading through all the threads is rather difficult seeing as much it turns out to be opinions or arguments fired back and forth. If someone knows of a chart, tool, etc. to aide in this study, please post it (again, if you already have). Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know of any charts. However, even skimming through those threads would help you. Look at the points brought up by those who are against the NKJV, and weigh their arguments.

Someone on here has posted links to websites which have great comparisons, some in chart format, but I have no idea where they are posted or which member(s) posted them.
