Is it time to practice gun laws here in America, like they do in Canada

Someone once told me that where all weapons, or guns, were removed from the public possession, that dictators would be able to control them even the more. If Americans, are so upset about having gun control, it could be Canada‘s fault, that here in America, they might make new changes.

Do you want the government to take control of those that have weapons, like guns,  control over sales and the permits. Everyone must follow the laws or rules like those in Canada, which is in the news today. I hope this helps

why am I posting this here, many Christians are gun owners, thank you for your replies.

The government does have limited control over guns and other weapons. More gun control will not help, as criminals don't care about what the law says. Personally, I don't see the need for registration of guns, but, because in some places it's the law, where it is, I would follow that rule. In Tennessee we have what is called "Constitutional Carry" which means we don't have to have a permit to carry a gun concealed or otherwise. I wouldn't want to be like Canada in any respect whatsoever. It's a pro-Socialist government, and they really should keep their ideology North of the border.

Second Amendment to  the U.S. Constitution

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

This is what I go by pertaining to guns and ownership.

NO! I do support parents humbling themselves before God and returning Him to the position of preeminence in The U.S. where He belongs. If they don't then we'll see more of this... LA mom mowed down by teen driver blasts DA over probation sentence (nypost.com)

Canada has nothing to do with what's happening here in America re: guns. Simply put, gun "laws" are there to hurt the lawful gun owner (name one gun criminal that obeys gun laws...just one - can't be done). Every single state has protection of the God-given right of arms ownership by citizens written into their state constitutions, just as it is written into the federal constitution.

The term "infringe" means to encroach...and the term encroach means to take another's rights gradually or stealthily.

Our founders knew that, and they knew that the fallen nature of man leads to the exertion of power over others...and they knew that oppressors STEALTHILY STEAL RIGHTS...aka infringe.

The cry right now, amongst silly, emotion-driven "do-gooders" is that nobody needs military weapons. They have no conception that AR-15s are NOT military weapons, but even if so, they are ignorant of the intent of our founders: our founders KNEW that if a government had better arms than the citizenry there would be no liberty. Because of the nature of the power hungry. Hence the specific wording of the 2A.

The reason for the "mass shootings" at its core is that we are now a society that worships death...and it began in the 70s with the legalization of abortion. Isn't it interesting that some of the same folks who are crying for gun control also are frothing about the possibility of Roe v Wade being reversed. Talk about inconsistency. But, hey, liberalism is a mental disease...

I don't. If the Armed Service accept people as young as 16, and people below the age of 12 are allowed to hunt, then there should be no age threshhold.

Curious, when did the military start accepting 16 yr olds?

My parents were willing to sign permission for me to enlist after HS graduation (17) - Vietnam era.

During the Civil War, some southern boys would a piece of paper in one boot when enlisting so the could "honestly" answer "yes sir" to the recruiter's question "Are you over sixteen?"

If you turn the 6 upside down, it becomes a 9 for 19…. ?

Just for clarification, when the discussion took place and the permission given, it was Vietnam era. We pulled out before I turned 17, so no, I am not a Vietnam Era veteran.

I shot my first rabbit at age 6 (currently own the rifle I used - it was my Dad's, and own the knife I skinned it with), owned my first rifle at 10 (birthday present), first drove a truck and a tractor (by myself, as opposed to just steering it) at age 12.
