Members BrotherTony Posted December 27, 2021 Members Posted December 27, 2021 I would NEVER have married a woman who didn't know how to cook. Why? Because, I, as a man knew/know how to cook, and have since I was a child. One of my younger brothers first wife cooked to some degree...his second wife couldn't cook at all, and his third wife, whom I went to Jr. High with way back in the 1970s, barely cooks. They spend more money eating out than anyone I know. My brother can cook, and when they do have "cooked at home" meals, it's him that cooks. My youngest brother from this side of my family also knows how to cook...but his wife does as well, and is quite accomplished in it! swathdiver and Jim_Alaska 2 Quote

Moderators Salyan Posted May 2, 2022 Moderators Posted May 2, 2022 And can you cook well? Cooking is a skill that both genders should learn. BrotherTony 1 Quote
Administrators Jim_Alaska Posted May 2, 2022 Administrators Posted May 2, 2022 My mother made sure that my brother and I knew how to cook. Her teaching has served me well over the years. Not that my wife can't cook, she does very well, but both her and I like my cooking and I cook often. BrotherTony and swathdiver 2 Quote

I can cook, from my early age in high school, I remember taking cooking classes, the best part was I could eat what I cooked. I just finish making a quick lunch today, grilled butter bread, with Virginia ham and cheese sandwiches. Quote
Moderators Salyan Posted May 2, 2022 Moderators Posted May 2, 2022 Excellent. One who knows how to cook for themselves need not to be prayed for. Anyone who doesn’t shouldn’t complain about someone else’s cooking. I consider this kind of topic to be rude and patronizing. Quote

Sad, I don’t even know why I’m here sometimes. Can someone just kick me out, banned. I can just leave, but I keep coming back for some reason. Quote

And would not have married one who could not have either. My mother and her mother taught me to cook as well. My wife is the better cook, my children are great cooks. My sister burns toast and our paternal grandmother was raised high society and did not know how to cook well. She always left the strings on the birds and roasts and served them that way! Though we still eat out too much, my wife and I take turns cooking, whoever's aches and pains are less at the moment! This is not the fun part of getting old. BrotherTony and Jim_Alaska 1 1 Quote

Members SureWord Posted April 22, 2023 Members Posted April 22, 2023 I remember years ago lady from my church had a sign in her kitchen that said: "Kissing Don't Last; Cooking Do" And her husband agreed. TheGloryLand and HappyChristian 2 Quote
Members TheGloryLand Posted May 8, 2023 Author Members Posted May 8, 2023 I found the secret to why men cook better than women. Using the same ingredients, the ladies will cook the very same thing in less time. So if I am making chilly, it takes me just over an hour. My wife will make it in 25 minutes. Mine is slowly cooking and absorbing all the seasoning. In conclusion, the the time that is being used makes all the difference. Quote
