Laura Jones left this morning.

Sad to read this. She seemed like one of the more reasonable posters here. I cannot blame her though, after some of the heat that was directed at her by others, including the staff.

The only person who could have done something is BroMatt, Mountain Christian. He owns this site and allows this self-rigtheous "so called Christian" to belittle people on this site. This man boasts about how people aren't saved, yet he promotes heresy on this site. I cannot sit by and watch someone tell a Christian that the saved are going to hell, b/c of a "sip of alcohol." He ignores Eternal Security of the believer and nothing is done about it, while he promotes other false doctrines on OB. I was asked by a moderator to site scripture, which I did, and threads got locked. I confronted him, and he cannot answer my question. As a Christian we are to mark false preachers. This man had his own congregation, at one time. I will not stay on a site with heretics.

Yes, Laura is a very fine Christian woman. Sadly, this site has made her think about IFB churches, in general. Nasty posters, as one of the ones I mentioned above, and one other in particular, caused her to leave. The poster in question tormented her on a thread about alcohol. And, she doesn't even drink booze.

I hope that you do not leave. Nobody else 'likes' my posts.

I am gone, Arbo. I was just checking in for a private message and saw the posts. This place is not the place for me. I liked your posts. Hopefully, someone else will come along and "like" them.

Sorry for anyone go for the reasons on this thread. God be with you. And no - if we do recognise others as "heretics" - hopefully we can teach them graciously & lead them to the truth in Jesus.

Strange though - nearly everbody disagrees with me, yet I have not felt any unpleasantness - even the occasional accusation of "heresy" I do not take as a personal attack.

It must be possible to disagree without being disruptive - after all, we are moving towards a glorious position when we will have full knowledge & be in full agreement.

Thanks, Covenanter:) BroMatt and the mods seem to ignore the "Big Elephant in the Room." I could no longer keep silent with his Biblical heresies. They went on and on and on, daily. This person, however, never explained what the Bible had to say on his false doctrine. That is where I draw the line. Sadly this man was once an IFB pastor. *sigh* I praise the Lord Jesus Christ for being grounded in a wonderful IFB church. Does it have it's faults? Yes, it does, but my pastor and former pastor never promote false doctrine. You may not believe in the Rapture, as I do; however, I was not going to have a knock down drag out fight with you over that, brother. I avoid conversations like that. We are to mark heretics. The Bible tells us so. Titus 3:10-11. OB is an evangelical site, yet this person is self-righteous and does not welcome new people with charity. How can he, though, when he doesn't know Christian charity if it were to bite him in the back. I call it as I see it. Sadly, nothing was done. So, I am done with OB. My husband reminded me that this was why I left OB the first time. That was back when the KJV wasn't a requirement, though. I can find all the heretics that I need on Facebook. I don't need OB, which is supposed to be doctrinally sound, to have this person and his "Holier than Thou" attitude screaming all over the site at those who dislike his unbiblical approach and his false doctrines. The world gives me enough of that. God bless you in your future endeavors.

BroMatt has done a great job of creating this board, and put countless hours into organizing it to keep out spammers, bad ads and other undesirable elements. He has to manage technical issues, posters with agendas, and just plain bad attitudes - and he doesn't get paid for putting up with this nonsense. He's created a great site for fellowship and learning. I love it here - and as for anyone who doesn't - well, I'm sorry you don't, but no one's forcing you to stay. Are there occasionally heresies put forth? Yes - and I think we are all guilty on occasion. Bad attitudes? Yes - and if everyone got banned for displaying a bad attitude there wouldn't none of us be left. Speaking from several years of observational experience, I'd have to say that usually those that complain the loudest that another member is in the wrong are just as worthy of being banned themselves. So for those that think someone else really needs to be silenced - don't forget to examine yourselves. Sometimes it takes someone else's wrong actions or words to reveal to us our own faults.
