I noticed my son had a weak left eye so my wife took him in to see an eye specialist. They said he'll need surgery. Hes not using certain muscles in his eye. Wife was pretty distraught, ready to cry when coming to tell me at work. She said no child should have to go though a surgery when they're 4 yrs old. I can't agree more, but if he dose'nt have this surgury he'll go blind in that eye. Wife is real nervous about it. I'm trying to be hopeful. Thanks in advance for your prayers.......

Awww....well I'm really glad you caught it now! Several of my kids have been "under"...two for tubes (once twice) and one for a stomach scope....the doctors take good care of them.

Keep us posted! Maybe use it as a way to witness to your wife, show her the power of prayer....

:pray for your son...Truthseeking.

My son was older when he underwent voluntary eye surgery. It went...A-O.K. I will keep your son and your family in prayer. God bless you.

:pray It's never easy to have our children go under "the knife." But especially when they are so young. This procedure, though, isn't new, so the doctor knows what he's doing. Praise the Lord you caught it before he actually went blind! Please let your wife know we are praying for the doc, your son and for you both.

I don't have children, but I have a nephew(3 yrs old) and five nieces (11, 4, 3, 7 months and 2 months). They are all dear to me and everytime they become sick, I feel so nervous and afraid. I will pray for your son.

God Bless,

Jeny

Hey I will pray,

This is very common, I know three kids who have had this, just trust the doc, and pray of course , but don't worry to much they'll take care of him, My daughter has a slight bit of this, but they are tring to correct it with glasses, hers was not visibly noticable.

there are afew diffrent diseases that cause this and my wife knows the names not I but, they all overwork the eye mussle if I undeerstand it correctly.

God bless and I will pray. :pray

My son had his surgery back in November - December. The surgery went well. The following week they did an MRI. Its been several weeks, but they called today with the results. The findings were that he has something abnormally wrong with his brain. As a parent thats not something anyone wants to hear. For the moment thats all we know, but we'll find out more Thrusday when he goes to the neurologist...... As long as its not life threatening, it'll be easier to deal with.

My mom, my aunts, and my grandma had that . People referred this to Lazy Eye but it isn't, it is Strabismus (weakness of muscle which can make your eye look crossed later in life) . Lazy eye is really Amblyopia. Strabismus can cause lazy eye or Amblyopia ... or blindness in that eye. My son does not have strabismus but he has lazy eye. My aunt, mom, grandma all had strabismus and they turned out fine. And I am talking about in the 60's too so I know surgery is alot safer today. nothing to worry about as far as the surgery. But yeah, no child should have to go through this. Praying.
