Yup, you're right. Obama's going to round up all the Christians and burn them at the stake. Meanwhile, the House, Senate, Federal Supreme Court, State Governments, state police forces will all sit back and say, "yeah, that's a great idea. Hitler wasn't a bad guy. Let's kill Christians now instead of Jews." :loco :bonk: :roll

And you say WHO is drinking the koolaid? :eek

:lol: Cute one, Kevin. I do think Obama is going to make America look like Canada.....we will loose many more freedoms under his presidency.

My friend made the point that Obama is a long way off from being a presidential dictator compared to what FDR was during another financial crisis in our nation's history. Remember, people also like to speculate that FDR knew about and allowed the attack on Pearl Harbor. There will always be conspiracy theories out there but most of them are far from true.

Bad analogy Kevin. Plenty of factual evidence is out there now which supports the fact FDR worked hard to push Japan into attacking and that he purposefully left Pearl Harbor exposed to attack in order to draw the Japanese in.

I haven't studied it but it seems like an awfully stupid thing to do.

Sounds like Bush. Many think he had alot to do with 9/11

Dubya didn't have anything to do with 9/11.

FDR did know about the Pearl Harbor attacks. Many people were aware something was coming. FDR had promised not to get us into the war, so something had to happen to make America want to fight. It did. Has anyone ever read the story of Billy Mitchell? He is considered the father of the Air Force. During his court-martial (you have to read his story to understand why the court-martial), he predicted that Japanese planes would do exactly what they did - on the exact day, at the exact hour. Another time, he predicted what they would do in the Phillipines - and was only off by a couple of hours. He based his predictions on the fact that Japan was building an air force and we weren't. Smart man.

Interesting thing about BO's claims about not liking partisanship. His pick for chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is the most partisan person around! He invented dirty politics, basically. So, I am not impressed with anything BO says about not wanting partisan...

There are many conservatives (who study this kind of thing) that have said that a BO presidency will be similar to BC's - especially with the transition team he is picking. And his plans to revive a host of BC's policies. But I do believe he will take us even deeper into socialism. And I don't believe he will stand up to Iran. I hope I will be pleasantly surprised, though.

Good points LuAnne!

It's actually rather common throughout Amercian history for various leaders to make moves that serve to cause others to attack and thus gain them the war they want but couldn't get otherwise.

I should add, America isn't the only nation where this tactic has been employed; just to be clear.

It is so weird to hear Canada being referred to as sortof a 'terrible fate that the US will succumb to if it isn't careful'. (This isn't the first time such an attitude has been voiced on this board.) It honestly doesn't seem that much more terribly socialistic or immoral than the US (aside from sodomite marriage -- which is not allowed in AB anyways). And yet, the more I listen to y'all talk, the more I realize how socialistic our country really is (some parts more/less than others. SK is really bad -- AB not so much). It's strange to recognize that because, from the inside, I don't consider this country to be at all socialist! It's only in comparison that any issues appear...

I'm not offended at the comparison... I think... :wink ... it's just such an incredibly weird thing to hear about my country!

Sorry if its offensive! I guess if you grow up in it, you don't think a thing about it. But from an outsider's perspective...Canada is very socialistic in many ways and some of us don't want that for America, although its heading that way.

I know Canada is not a "terrible" place to live, but there are things that we'd rather keep "Americanized" rather than "socialized" as long as possible.

I agree..

Canada is not a terrible place to live. Just that if America heads toward like other countries such as Canada Or any like Europe, we won't be able to find another America to move to. Yet, socialists, communists, etc. have other countries to go . I think that's why we say we are not interested in becoming like Canada or any countries like that. We want to be Americans, pure and simple as that.

Our Ancestors fought and died for this country. I hope people don't have fight again.

Most Americans don't realize (and don't care) just how socialist America is today. America has a socialist public school system, social security system, medicare system, tax system, etc. and yet most Americans don't even see it and most would fight tough and nail if the socialist systems in America were brought up for termination.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. - Thomas Jefferson

There probably will have to be a major fight if liberty is to remain in this country, unfortunately. I just don't like the 'patriots' part of that quote, I wish it were only tyrants.

True liberty is already gone and what little remains is being restricted and limited more and more.

It's a shame, but some patriots must fall in all major battles. Today however, there are not that many true patriots remaining.

I really enjoy reading and posting in Yahoo answers In the Religion Forum, and I thought I would share one of the questions there that pertain to this topic.

What is being done about Religion?
With the recent presidential election it has become obvious that moderately religious people can have a negative impact on the progression of societies. Proposition 8 (and other propositions of its kind), dealing with the ban of same-sex marriage, were passed in three states. The statistics released for these propositions indicates that those who voted to ban same-sex marriage were predominantly religious people. So, it is very possible that the rights of homosexual couples were diminished primarily due to religious beliefs.

This is a direct implication that everyday, moderate Christians have a negative impact on society due to their religious beliefs. I think that many people will agree with me on this. This being said, assuming that we do not want our society to regress or stagnate, what can we do to strip religion of its power to have this negative effect?

This question to me signifies what we as Christians have to look forward to under an Obama/Biden leadership.

Sincerely,
Michelle

Howdy Michelle  Welcome to OB!

The anti-Christian forces are emboldened by the rise of liberalism in America and the election of a far left liberal as president. They would LOVE to find a way to force Christians (and anyone else who disagrees with them) to be kept from having any influence in politics and the things of society in general.
