When a friend and I used to witness to Catholics in university we noticed two very different kinds of Catholics. One kind was Catholic because their family was Catholic and it was mostly about religious tradition rather than any desire to please God. The other kind, the one most open to the Gospel, were those who were Catholic (often because their family was) but who really did want to be right with God and thought they were.

When we presented the Gospel to the second group and we showed them in the Word of God just how unbiblical many teachings of the RCC are they were most often surprised and shocked. They would often be visibly upset at the fact they had been lied to and discovering that they were not right with God at all. Thanks be to God, we helped to lead many of these to Christ.

Of course there are also the more militant Catholics out there who will take any "anti-Catholic" statement as an attack and they will strike back loud and hard. Their hearts are hardened and there is no point in casting our pearls before them. Unless they open their hearts to the Lord so He can soften them, they will reject the Gospel message as an anti-Catholic attack.

All the RCC that I've run into, say that solo Scriptures is not enough, you have to have it plus the RCC to know about God and His way. They seemed to be brain washed.

Doesn't surprise me that they would love to take over the world and force everyone to worship with them, makes them equal to the Islam's.

Once a few years back I asked this question of a coC and Assembly of God. If you had the power to tell every church in America what and how to worship, would you, or would you just let them worship as they wish.

The coC said he would make them all worship at the coC did, if they didn't he would shut them down.
The Assembly of God said, I would let the worship freely as they wish, I would never force anyone to worship a certain way. I agreed. The coC thought we were nuts.

The highlighted part was me, John. I was "righteously" angry. I love the RCC people (they are my biggest burden) but I despise the RCC for sending my loved ones to hell.

Isn't the CoC the church that thinks they are God's chosen people? Rather than the Jews?

So, I was reading over that timeline of Catholic anti-Semitism. You can definitely see the progression of that attitude over history and through the Holocaust. However, after WW2 the attitude seems to have changed. Why? Because now it's not politically correct to be an anti-Semite? I can't imagine the RCC has truly changed its attitude so suddenly after so many years, so it makes me wonder what ulterior motive is in play now.

Trying to win people by being nice and not showing their true nature. Public relations at work.

I feel sure the pope and all his cronies at the Vatican would love nothing better than to rule the world from the Vatican and taking up the work their forefathers failed to accomplish and drive out every other religion off the face of this earth and force people into their man made church.

We know they lose, for God saw fit to share the ending with us.

Right on, Janet! I saw your post below---so I will say, "BINGO" to all these threads. LOL.

The RCC uses---Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again. However, w/o scripture....and the Latin Vulgate is what it is--- "Latin" Vulgar, they can't back anything up. So, naturally everything changes according to their every whim. It is "The blind leading the blind." :sad

I agree that the RCC's apparent change in attitude with regard to Jews is just for show. Nothing seems to really have changed except for the fact the RCC is not out in the open about their anti-Semitism now.

I can't recall any details off hand, but I know I have read of things the RCC has done in recent decades that have in effect been anti-Israel/anti-Jew. From what I can tell (and I certainly don't know that much about the RCC), it seems the RCC is still anti-Jew, they are just more subtle now.

Now that I think about it, I do recall some Catholics and Orthodox I have spoken with over the internet who say in certain areas of Europe both Catholics and Orthodox are more openly anti-Jew. From my understanding, in those areas it's not politically incorrect, and no body from the Vatican or any other Orthodox branch try to stop this (thus, approval).
