I notice typos but I think they just try to get the articles out so fast they don't have time to super proofread them.

I see typos all the time, Kevin. I really don't care. Yeah...when it is professional, it shouldn't be so, but..."such is life." Send Fox News a letter if you are concerned. You know? It couldn't hurt.

Oh it's not something I would complain about but it just drives me crazy when I see the errors, especially ones that are really obvious, things that should have been seen in the first proof-read. Must be the teacher in me. :frog

I know! I get that Kevin. You might get over it in time, though. Maybe...maybe, not. LOL

Yes, I notice this and it's not just online, I notice this in newspapers a lot as well. Considering these are supposed to be professional publications one would think they could get their spelling and grammar right at least most of the time.

Considering I've never thought of myself as being that well educated in this area it seems really bad if I'm capable of noticing their wrong spellings, poor use of grammar, run-on sentences, non-sentences, etc.

Very unprofessional. Of course, considering the "education" system most of these folks went through, it's little wonder.

I catch typos in most books I read too. Usually only one or two per book' date=' but still....[/quote']

Me too. I'm actually very impressed when I read a book and find no typos! Still, one or two aren't bad; I've read some books that are filled with them. This always makes me wonder just how much money the proofreader was paid.

Part of the problem in some instances is an over-reliance upon spellcheckers rather than taking the time to do true proofreading.

Sometimes I think its how fast the books are being printed too. I just finished a series and noticed the later books in the series had more typos than the first couple.

That's pretty bad! :roll

I don't read Fox a lot, but it drives me crazy when I see spelling errors in newspapers or news publications. Have you ever noticed that very few newspaper editors nowadays seem to know the difference between 'its' and it's'? :verymad:

True again. It's that greed factor at work again. The rush to get a product on the market and rake in the money while willingly allowing quality to diminish.

 Newspaper articles, books, magazines...I see typos all over the place! Right...they can't spell. I become immune to it, sometimes. :coffee They need more people to proofread.

Our grade school children can spell much better than some of these adults. That is no joke, either. LOL.

It drives me crazy too when I see typos and poorly-worded sentences. I almost fell off my chair yesterday when I saw an article in a newspaper about a group of hunters who shot a considerable amount of Peasants in October. There was a picture of the hunters posing with their Peasants. I showed it to my DH and he just shook his head. CJP56.
