For some reason, because of my "emotionalism",(their word--not mine) I have been mistaken for a woman, and so I discovered that my gender is not speciifed in my profile. Just so everyone knows; on any forum I have ever joined, I have never intentionally tried to hide my gender, nor am I ashamed of it. So if someone would kindly show me how, I will get that taken care of right now. And anyway; what is feminine about the screen name "Heartstrings"? :puzzled3:

Haha I always get you confused for a girl too...sorry! But there are one or two other guys here that I accidentally think are girls, too.

I guess "heartstrings" is an emotional sounding name....

  1. On the top right click the down arrow that is to the right of your username.
  2. Click "My Settings".
  3. Click the "Profile" tab
  4. Around the middle of the page you will see the option to add your gender.

Well....
I will confess, I get all emotional in church; sometimes bawling like a baby. I even cry when watching chick flicks with my wife...like this one......http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0136523/
I cried when my Dad died, cried tears of joy when my first son was born then cried like a baby when he got married. I cried when my first grandson was born. I even started crying at my friend's wedding and people were looking at me like "what a kook!".

Such isn't typical man behaviour so you should understand why some would wonder if you are a woman in your posts. I knew you had mentioned you were a man in the past but I'll admit I continually had to remind myself of that because a great many of your posts do indeed appear feminine.

Don't take what I said as an insult, just an OBservation.

I knew a guy who was raised mostly by his mom and he had two older sisters and he became much more feminine than masculine in his mannerisms.

Hahaha I'm lovin' this.

Well, you know that's interesting because, I get this overwhelming urge to cry sometimes and it just comes. I can't help it. Is there soemthing wrong with me? Hey....I even tote my wife's purse for her sometimes. :eek

BTW...thanks Brother Matt...I'm officially a dude now. :th_tiphat: Edited by heartstrings

I have no idea why you get overwhelming urges to cry. Such isn't typical of men but that doesn't necessarily mean there is anything "wrong" with you.

I'm not sure what you mean by toteing your wife's purse. I have no prOBlem holding my wife's purse for her if it helps her but I don't just pick it up and walk around with it.

Please don't take anything wrong I'm saying here. In no way am I trying to make a personal attack or to belittle you. You may be a great guy and you might make a great friend.

I've prOBably only cried 2 or 3 times in the past 30 years. I've seen my dad cry once, and that was really only wet eyes, not outright crying, and this was when his wife (my Mom) died, and I only know of one other time he ever cried in his 71 years.

I've been around a lot of men in a lot of situations, both happy and tragic, and none of us has ever seen the other cry.

A man who cries a lot and is overly emotional is new on me but I'm not going to pre-judge you or your positions based upon this.

Don't worry about it, heart! Remember that Jesus wept, too. :icon_mrgreen: My hubby wept more than once over his father's soul. And his dad got saved! Remember that David wept, too - watered his couch with tears, in fact. And Jeremiah. Not a one of them was in any way feminine. I have to admit: I've never thought you were a woman!! :icon_mrgreen::lol:

And I see that I owe you an apology SIR, I am glad to discover that you are a man. It is easier to talk rough to a man than it is to a woman, in my opinion.
Sorry about the surmising.

Really now... a "great many"? Show me just a few...or even one. Maybe my anti-calvinsm posts? The ones you don't like......

I wouldn't worry about the crying thing so much. Since I've been saved I've found it's easier for me to shed a tear these days. Now, I'm not a bawler and I think my tears show more in joy than in sadness. I get pretty sad thinking about my lost family members.

Crying is not sissified, as we men seem to think. I have sen the toughest of men bawl like babies, because they were helpless to do anything else! I wish I could cry more, in fact, especially over the souls of the lost.

Many people have already pointed these posts out to you over the course of time.

I have no idea why you would think I would not like certain posts or that I would think certain things based on how much I like or dislke a post. Such doesn't even make sense.

My view of posts, you, me and all are based upon Scripture and reason, not emotionalism.
