I really don't understand how someone can think she's dumb! She couldn't have been a successful mayor or governor if she were. But then, there are alot of people who think Dubya's dumb, too.

Read her book. You might be surprised.

Who said she was dumb? You don't have to have the knowledge to be a president to write a book, even OBama wrote one.

Sarah had two main prOBlems during the presidential campaign.

Sarah likes to answer questions simply and in simple terms; or put another way, she likes to give brief, uncomplicated answers. This served her well in Alaskan politics but in national politics, and especially with her being a Republican and taking on the mantle of conservative, the national media wasn't about to accept such answers and were more than willing to use such against her.

Worst of all, McCains camp failed horribly to properly prepare Sarah. Now it's been argued by the McCain camp that Sarah rejected the necessary tutoring and Sarah has denied that. Either way, it was the McCain camps responsibility to ensure Sarah was properly prepared for debates and interviews before allowing such.

Along with this was the McCain camps failure to utilize Sarah's strong points.

Sarah didn't have a broad knowledge of foreign affairs and policy. The vast majority of governors don't. It takes a great deal of preparation to bring most vice-presidential candidates up to speed on such. McCains camp failed to do this.

I feel she lack so much knowledge of the present day times that they had to cram her head full of information to quickly. That just fuzzed things up in her mind. Now if they had of had 3 months or longer to prepare her, she would have come off much different.

But there is one thing that trumps that, being president of this United States is not a position for a woman, no matter how smart the woman may be.

While I appreciated the positions Palin has held on some issues her miserable attempts at a "folksy" style come across to me as revolting, silly, and very unladylike. I don't know if it would be worse if she is faking it or if that is who she actually is. I don't mind a folksy style to a point but I find her very irritating to listen to even when I more or less agree with what she is saying. I think the only reason she became poplar is because the rank and file within the republican party were desperate for any public figure who would profess conservative ideals. I don't think she is stupid as the liberals would make her out to be but she has made far more than her fair share of missteps which doesn't impress me much either. I think she will remain a vocal voice within the republican party which is a good thing to a point since she is fairly conservative, but I think it is unlikely that she will win higher political office than what she has already had and I think that is a good thing too.

Actually he didn't - at least not by himself. Hers is hers alone.

I do believer her "folksy" style is pretty much just her. That was one of the factors the McCain camp originally liked because it separated her from McCain and it also helped her to truly look like an outsider and someone who meant "change".

Interestingly, many in Alaska complained that the once folksy, down-home Sarah was no longer like that after the presidential campaign.

That said, I've noticed the majority of folks seem to either love her folksy manner while others hate and only a few fall in between. When she's on a real roll, I love to listen to her. When she's stumbling or when she's addressing something she OBviously isn't well informed on, her manner seems to grate.

She mostly seemed so conservative because of who she was standing by (a very non-conservative McCain) and because she talked the talk. Of course, this is exactly what McCain wanted in order to get the conservative and Christian vote.

In reality, her record and her positions indicate she's not a real conservative. It's truly sad how dumbed-down the label of conservative has become.

Sarah has made wise decisions since the presidential campaign. Getting out of the governors office was a good move because she couldn't have gained anything by staying and would likely lose much.

Writing her book was a good move and signing on with Fox News is as well. Sarah stands a much greater chance of becoming a successful Republican commentator and speaker than she does at winning a major national office.

It's a shame the Republican Party is so bankrupt of true conservatives and has so little to offer in stark contrast to OBama.

It will be interesting to see if she gets a Huckabee type of show or if she is just a "talking head" on specific issues on shows like Hannity or the Factor.

I do not make no claim on what Fox has in store for her, but it may be just as a commentator.

Sarah Palin to Debut As Fox News Pundit Tuesday

If she could not stand the heat of being governor of Alaska for just a little longer, them there is no way she can handle the office of president of this United States for 4 years, the heat as president will be much hotter and much more will be at stake.

It wasn't the heat of being governor. It was the bogus "ethics violations" (of which she was cleared 100%). According to Alaska law, any kind of ethics charge can be brought against a government official - with no charge to the person doing the charging. And all charges have to be investigated, at the cost of the person being charged. At the point of her resignation, there were $500,000 in legal bills she was owing. She and her staff were unable to get work done because of what was going on (some of the charges definitely stank of DC!). So, in order to stop the time that was being wasted and in order to stop having to pay so much for frivolous lawsuits (BTW - taken right out of Saul Alinskey's handbook for radicals...) she resigned. She actually used a lot of wisdom in her move.

Actually, the opposition wanted to distract her and prevent her from being able to accomplish anything meaningful as governor. This would have allowed them to pain Sarah as an ineffective governor. By leaving she took this away from them.

So, to a minor degree the opposition got what they wanted in getting her out of the governors office, but their major goals were thwarted.

Frontal assaults are not always the most effective method to win a war.....perhaps she is doing a flanking maneuver.

It seems rather OBvious Sarah assessed the situation, considered various options and made her decisions based upon what she thinks best for her career and financial future.

And she didn't make the decision alone. Her family all had a voice in her decision.

For those who haven't read her book, I do encourage you to read it. She brings things to light that the lamestream media covered up. And that the GOP "handlers" did.

She was painted by the media as being a hick from the sticks of Alaska, and the McCain campaign did nothing to dispel that. She is anything but a hick and her book shows that she is indeed capable of deep thought and has more knowledge about current events and foreign affairs than has been credited to her. And it's easy to read.
