Just out of curiosity... I have started 2 threads now about Revelation 4. Both have been locked - the second after one response. Is there some way to bring out this discussion and let there be a discussion? There should be no problem discussing this question if there is a biblical Baptist answer. I shall phrase the question here if I may... "Is the rapture of the church (saved people) the subject occurring in the first verses of Revelation 4, or is it the catching-up of one guy named John, to be shown future events, from a book in the Lambs hand, so he could write this book?" Is there something wrong in the question? Is there something wrong …

With the release of the film, "Spotlight," earlier this year, many people who were victimized, in their youth, by priests, are coming forward about their abuse. For the priests that are still alive to be punished, I believe that this is a good thing; however, what about those who were abused by priests that have since died? Can anything be done for them? Can they still file charges against the RCC itself?

My main concern is truth, in what some refer to as doctrine pertaining to the Rapture or catching-away or gathering, in the first verses of Revelation chapter 4. I say it refers only to John being caught up to be shown the 'revelation' from the book that only the Lamb could open and show him. Not the rapture of the church. Any comments? Any proof verses contrary to my view? Thanks.

I am currently reading the second book of the three book series "The Lamb Among The Stars". Quite exciting! It is like Star Wars with a Christian flare! I read multiple books at a time sometimes, so this is year 2 for this series. I hope to finish it within the next couple. The title to the second book which I just started a week ago - "The Dark Foundations". Written from the perspective of the return of the Lord occurring 13,000 years from now.

I was asked for some more uke videos, so I thought I'd see about putting one or two up, maybe more later. Also, if anyonea music video to share, for those who hve some talent, feel free to share, as well. Not sure if I have put this one up or not, just one of my men and I singing together. An early one, the rythym is a bit odd, as I was still working out bugs in proper playing of Christian music on the uke. This was written by Dr. Herbert Tovey, who taught my parents in classical music, and also has written some hymns.

Just a reminder, the church directory is for listing KJV, Independent Fundamental Baptist churches only. I have removed a recent listing for "Redemption Church", because it is clearly a contemporary, non-IFB church. If the lister is present, please don't be offended, it is not personal against you-but the rules are clear. Thanks. If you wish to post something there, and are not sure you meet the criteria, please ask the moderators or refer to the rules. Thanks all.

I have been wondering what happened to John 81. He was one of the most prolific posters but has not been on for a while, I appreciated his thoughtfulness. Does anyone know what happened to him?

Hello, We have a 15 year old daughter raised in a christian faith. She was baptized in a church which I would call closer to baptist than evangelical. I know she is struggling with hormonal changes and thoughts she considers impure. She might be concerned with falling out of God's grace because of it. This leads to marked anxiety that is becoming very obvious and I want to intervene before it goes too far. She is now anxious about many things to the point she could barely function. She is very intelligent, top student and tries to find answers in the Bible herself which sometimes raise more anxiety. I would like to see which approach may work best, especially if som…

Thank you to all of you who reported the private messages you received from "celialove". Moderators also received them, and Jim_Alaska banned her as soon as he became aware of it yesterday. Sadly, this type of thing happens sometimes on the board. However, members who take the time to report things like this in a timely manner help us keep things clean - especially if moderators don't receive the messages. Again, thanks to all of you for the alerts.

I have been away for the last couple of weeks. I took our teens to Summer camp, and I have been away as I'm preparing to start a church in Connecticut. I see I have a lot of catching up to do with PM's and other requests. I'll slowly be working on them the next couple of days. Thank you.

The Mod Room, nice ring. You see, with a reduction of # of mods a while back, Bro. Matt moved us from a shack to a closet. However, due to Bro. Mike and myself taking so much space that we almost squeezed HC out of the closet and poor little Salyan was almost imbedded into the door, he at least relented and gave us a whole room. But, back on track with the intended subject: There has been discussion back in the mod room concerning recent contention and disturbances It was decided that the lack of warning points (or lack of teeth behind them) has resulted in boundaries being pushed (shoved, or terrorized) in a manner like unto petulant school kids. I offered to …

Well, some would say that ya'll get what you pay for --- nothing. On the serious side -- an overview for those who are too new to know. No, the mods don't get paid, the administrator does obtain some income to offset the costs of having OB available for us. We all have involved lives away from the keyboard. 2 mods are pastors with secular jobs also. One mod has recently moved 2/3 of the way across the country, no longer holding the library job which afforded her with some extra "internet moments". One mod deals with OB from a cell phone (no thanks, that would run me into resignation). The administrator is beginning a new church in Conn…

The forum Bible study on 2 & 3 John has now officially begun. To begin let us consider the following questions: 1. What are the primary themes of subject matter in 2 John? 2. In what verses of 2 John do we find each of these primary themes presented? 3. What are the primary themes of subject matter in 3 John? 4. In what verses of 3 John do we find each of these primary themes presented? (Note: I myself DO have thoughts in answer to the above questions; but I shall wait for other contributions before I present them, so that I myself do not simply dominate everything.)

Due to some comments in another thread, I have been pondering today upon various New Testament passages concerning the persecution of the faithful. Even so, I have started this thread for the quotation of such New Testament passages on persecution, in order that we might be spiritually edified and encouraged thereby.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engel_v._Vitale Led by Stephen Engel, a follower of Judaism,[1] the plaintiffs sought to challenge the constitutionality of the state's prayer in school policy. They were supported by groups opposed to the school prayer including rabbinical organizations, Ethical Culture, and Judaic organizations. The acting parties were not members of one particular religion; despite being listed in the court papers as an atheist, plaintiff Lawrence Roth later denied this allegation and described himself as religious but not comfortable with prayer.[2] The five plaintiffs were made up of three Jews and two self-proclaimed "spiritual" people who did not …
