I am looking for a good Bible College that I can attend online. I am looking for a Doctorate in Divinity. I am a stay-at-home soon to be wife and as such I have enough for my needs but no money for much else. My spirit desires the Word of God and learning with fervor more about Him. I know studying Theology is very in depth and I am not looking to become a pastor but I am looking for the knowledge as I crave the study and fellowship with God.

Let me start out by saying that I love sports, but rarely watch them anymore but still follow scores on my phone. With the Superbowl coming up next week, I see a lot of churches in this area hosting Superbowl services. They will watch the Superbowl, and have a service at halftime. Have we become so culture orientated that our services are more about culture now than they are about worshiping Jesus?

Many of you know that we started a church 2 years ago. I think I can write a book on these first two years. We've gone through a lot as a church including a split that left us down to 10 people......but when you put your trust in God and stay faithful He will bless. Things are really busy so my Online Baptist time is not what I would like for it to be. God has been blessing us as a church and we seen a lot of growth that we have not experience as a church before. If I have time I'll post sometime what God has done. Below is two of our most recent baptisms.

I have moved the posts between weary warrior and myself to this new thread from The Beauty of Creation. My post and the resulting replies were off of the original topic. weary warrior, are you familiar with the person or work of Bro. James Dearmore who was a missionary to South Africa out of Rodger's Baptist Church for over 50 years? His work among tribal people exemplified Biblical mission work and teaching. He has now gone to be with The Lord, but his work lives on in the form of tribal pastors that he trained. He and his wife worked under the most dangerous and trying conditions a missionary can experience. Many places he worked were very hostile to both missionar…

My wife is a wonderful, lovely, gorgeous, but slightly silly lady. I say slightly silly for the simple reason that you would have to be at the very least slightly silly to put up with me for 29 years, and yet as of tomorrow, it will be 29 years ago that we were married. I love her more now than I did then, and at that time, I didn't think it was possible to love a person more than I loved her. So I am bragging about how wonderful she is, and how amazing she is that she could put up with me for so long.

My prayer for all of you. May the Lord bless all of you during this Christmas season. May the Lord give all of you a blessed time with your loved ones. May the Lord bless your churches with a loving spirit this Christmas season. May the Lord bless the churches with souls entering church to find hope during this Christmas season. May the Lord protect you as you drive seeing loved ones. May the Lord give all of us a love for the Lord Jesus as we remember His birth and leaving Heaven to this world of woe, that we may enjoy the blessings of heaven for eternity. Alan Brethren, Feel free to post you favorite Christmas music. Fee…

So many people look forward to this time of year. "Honor the newborn King!" they say excitedly. Where is this newborn King that they want me to honor, to worship, to adore? I know of no such King born this year. Friends, Christ is no longer a baby in a manger. What are you doing? We are not told to worship a baby. There is no more Baby Jesus. Let's just set the record straight. The Baby Jesus that was born 2017 years ago grew up, died according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose from the dead three days later according to the Scriptures. He is no longer a Baby lying in a manger. He is no longer an infant being honored by three wise men. He is no longer a child ans…

Praying that you all have a safe New Year's Eve, and blessed, God focussed new year and year to come. I will get there before most of you - just over seven hours where I am. But as you head home from Church this evening, remember that there are many who are partying and drinking etc, who do not care for you nor your famly, so drive safe.

It's been a few years, but this was an annual topic that I thought I would throw out there. I am amazed at how many "Christian" parents lie to their children. This Christmas, my wife and I saw post after post from friends about what their children got from Santa. I am so proud of my 8 year old daughter who stood up to her friends who were trying to convince her that Santa was real. Parents - You are lying to your children about Santa, Easter Bunny and tooth fairies. No other way to say it.

I have been trying to locate an 1811 Baptist confession of faith without success. I was wondering if anyone might have an electronic copy of one or can direct me to one online. I am working with a situation that requires a copy of the 1811, so that I know for sure what it says.

I wanted to ask the folks here if they believe that the Shroud of Turin is in fact the genuine burial cloth of Jesus. Carbon dating dates the shroud to around 1,200 to 1,400 AD; however, we know that Carbon dating has its flaws. Is this truly the face of God in the flesh, or is it a hoax? I tend to believe that it MAY be a hoax due to the fact that RCC has it as a relic, and can somehow play a role when the Antichrist comes on the scene. When Jesus was nailed to the Cross, and rose from the dead, He told Thomas: "Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing…

While this pertains to a Christmas present, I hope those who may be anti-Christmas will look past that point and appreciate what it's truly about. : ) As I was signing my Dad's Christmas card and relaying to him (in the card) how one of the presents that I was giving him was related to a fond memory of my childhood...I was crying like a baby. You see, my Dad is 79 years old now, and he's not in the best shape. He has health issues. Plus, his mind is slipping. It's hard for me to see this man (whom I've admired for so long) have to suffer the effects of old age. He's the one who helped mold me into the person I am today. He's the one who took us to church. He's t…

I must apologize for the wall of text, but my computer is not working at the moment and I am actually using my son's gaming system, and it won't allow me to separate my words into paragraphs. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God...(Psalm 14:1). The existence of God can easily be proven using common sense, (sadly which is not so "common") There are several theories on the Universe and whether it had a beginning, or came out of nothing (ex nihilo). First argument would be, did the Universe have no beginning? Is in infinite? Using logic, "infinite" is only a concept in the mind or in mathematics. But we know that the Universe cannot have an infinite regress beca…

Starting a church 1 2

Just thought I would ask in the general sense - I know the standard IBF run down on the issue, and I don't particularly want a whole big argument going on, but maybe people could give their understanding of who has the authority to start a new church. This is almost, if you will, a survey of PEOPLE's thoughts on the matter. If you want to include some scripture to support that would be fine, but I am really looking for people's understanding, so even a general reference to the "the Bible says..." without a direct quote would be acceptable in this instance. So the Question: "Who has the authority to start a Biblical church?" and secondarily,…

I didn't want to post a link but did see this on Drudge. Poor ole Bill O'Reilly is mad at God for all this grief he's been getting. It's too bad that he doesn't even know who God and His Son are. Despite his books and talk of the "diety", the poor fellow hasn't a clue, still clinging to Mary and Popery.
