The protest riots at Kent State in Ohio took place during my time in Vietnam. Whenever I listened to the news, all I heard was how the young people, many of my age, were tearing our country apart while some of my friends were dying to protect the freedom we enjoy. I remember breaking down and crying over the state of affairs in the United States (when no one was around, of course). I was not the most patriotic person you have ever seen, in fact, I really did not want to be there at the time, but when I thought of friends who had died on foreign soil, and the loved ones who wept for them, it was heart breaking to think that there may not be much of a country to come bac…

A NEW RELIGION MASQUERADING AS CHRISTIANITY PART 1 By Marsha West June 12, 2009 NewsWithViews.com Recently the Barna Research Group released a study on the religious practices of liberals and Christians. According to the report: "The research?discovered that libeerals are more likely than conservatives to develop their own set of religious beliefs rather than adopt those proposed by a church or other entity. A greater percentage of liberals also indicated they are very open to accepting different moral views than those they presently possess." [1] Liberal "Christians" abhor "fundamentalist" Christianity so they cast it aside and adopt their own set of religiou…

The 10th Amendment and Ratification of the Constitution by Dr. Archie Jones Humanly speaking, the authority of our Constitution is not based on the authority of the people of the nation or the Union but upon the authority of the people of the respective states. Sen. Daniel Webster to the contrary not withstanding, the Constitution?s Preamble?s opening phrase, ?We the people of the United States,? did not mean, and was not intended to mean, the people of the United States as a united whole?as Federalist advocates of ratification of the Constitution had to admit again and again during the various states? debates on ratification of the Constitution. The evidence on this…

I created a URL Shortening service (http://hyux.com/_rstart) and the best part is that when people click on the link you create, it takes them to a page with one of several dozen carefully selected Bible verses (KJV) for 5 seconds, before they continue to the ultimate link. Here, test it out: http://hyux.com/_rcOXn

NWV Poll Should Christians resist tyranny? http://www.newswithviewsstore.com/polls.html I don't really care for the poll options but considering some of what is going on now, this is an important topic and one other generations of Christians have wrestled with as well. What say you?

The church that ordained me in 2000 has now called our local football coach who is a member of the local SBC Church to come preach for them this Sunday morning in view of call. Them Sunday night they committee searching for a pastor will answer any questions about this after which they will have a vote. I feared that will Bro Glen retiring that this church would probably go liberal, and I believe that is coming to pass. The local football coach is our local hero, this is a 100% football town, and it seems in our school football comes 1st. Plus in his 4 years as our coach he has won 3 State Titles, last year we made it to the 3rd round in the play offs. I might add w…

I do not believe they are remotely Biblical, and are instead an attempt to appear more "scientific" or something along those lines. Theistic Evolutionists: Don't believe God created the world in six days; believe the world is billions of years old; believe in the Big Bang; believe God used evolution in His creation. Old Earth Creationists: Believe basically the same as above, minus evolution. God bless, Crushmaster.

In the future I'm considering changing the software from phpBB to either MyBB or SMF. Those of you that have used either of these, what is your opinion on them? Because of certain reasons, I will not even consider IPB or vBulletin. I will consider other paid forum software. :lol

Not really sure where to put this so thought maybe here was just fine or what to call this thread. (Just wandering if i'm actually going to click Submit when i'm done here :roll ) I found this place looking something up on the KJV Bible. Its the version i stick to, have for years now. Have found myself in a few awful debates because of it. That?s alright though cause i'll defend the KJV anytime even though God's Word needs no defending. At the time of finding this forum i was taking a long break from trying to post or anything and had a thought after signing up here i could use this place to help me get back into posting and stuff and get myself back in my own studies…

<<"Under the U.S. military code of conduct, armed forces on active duty are prohibited from trying to convert a person's faith.">> Quote from "Army Says it Confiscated Afghan Bibles">> http://www.military.com/news/article/ar ... ibles.html Now, if that is true, would it not be wrong for a child of God to be unequally yoked to the Military service in America? The person who joins the Military service would be put them self under someone who tells them to disobey God.

Suspect in abortion provider death talks from jail Thu Jun 4, 8:46 pm ET WICHITA, Kan. ? The man accused of killing Kansas abortion provider George Tiller said Thursday from the county jail where he is being held that he's "being treated as a criminal" even though he hasn't been convicted. In a brief telephone conversation with The Associated Press, Scott Roeder also disputed what he called "broad brush" characterizations of him as being anti-government. "I want people to stop and think: It is not anti-government, it is anti-corrupt government," Roeder, who called from the Sedgwick County Jail in response to a written request for an interview. The 51-year-old Ka…

Let Your Home Be A Witness If you and your household, were raptured today Or removed from this earth, In some accidental way. Who would be there to wonder and roam, To sort through your belongings, and clean out your home. Would your home be a witness, to the Lord whom you claim, Or, would the stash in your cabinets, dishonor His Name. What's on your calendar, Is the evidence clear, That you gave time to others, not just your career. Would your CD collection, If weighed in a balance, Bring Glory to Jesus, or praise earthly talents. Are your priorities evident, by the way your home looks Would Jesus be comfortable, reading your books. Do yo…

We're watching "Word's Strictest Parents" on CMT. The strict parents run a family camp in Combs, Arkansas. They go to White River Baptist Church (IFB) in Saint Paul, Arkansas. The camp looks really nice and is only $300 for the whole family (5 or less). I thought ya'll be interested in it.

My Stint in Vietnam I signed up for the draft in 1968, and was inducted into the service on October 10, 1968. That day found me in the U. S. Army induction center in Detroit Mi., and it was the beginning of my 21 month stint with Uncle Sam in the army. After that, most of it was routine stuff, of which I will skip, and get right to the year that I spent in Vietnam, since that is the focus of this writing. Just as we were getting off the plane at Bien Hua air base in Vietnam, I heard a very loud roaring sound, more like a whistling roar, I suppose, and stopped to look up in the sky where the sound was rapidly approaching from. I was looking for a huge jet or pla…

WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET? By Mary Starrett May 30, 2009 NewsWithViews.com All the talk lately about the GOP being ?too far to the right? and needing a makeover to become ?more inclusive? has been amusing in a surreal sort of way. Mitt, Jeb and Colin along with the great preponderance of liberal media types all agree, the Republicans could be so much more ?relevant? and maybe even win an election if they?d just stop catering to those dad gum fringe fundy?s who?ve ?hijacked? the party. I?ve been searching high and low for any sign the RNC has kowtowed to the conservatives in the party. I can?t find one. What I did find was a long list of the party?s sellouts of th…

I just had to post this one for you! Enjoy. :smile This was written by a Canadian woman. A housewife in New Brunswick, Canada - to her local newspaper. 'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since? Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from the nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they? And I'm supposed to care t…
