got a job! Praise the Lord. It is not police work like he wanted. He is going to be a full time custodian for a Christian school near him. We talked today, and he doesn't care that he will be scrubbing toilets and such, he just thanks God he has an income again.

So tonight I was letting my baby, who just turned one on Monday, crawl around the church afterwards as I chatted with some ladies. As time went on, I didn't realize that the auditorium was cleared out and I also figured my little guy couldn't get hurt with so much room to "roam". What I didn't realize is that he had made his way up the front podium steps, into the back, up the steps to the baptistry, and was working his way DOWN the inside baptistry steps. What I also didn't realize is that the baptistry had WATER in it. Now, my husband always drains the baptistry right after a baptism. But while we were on vacation, there were some baptisms and the water did not…

 I would just like to publically to praise God for his timing. We have been praying for my wife to be off on every Sunday so we can be at church together. The only way she could do this where she works,is to become the department manager. They have asked her before but because of my youngest girls school grade and other situations, she could not take the position. Well,PRAISE be to God, he has worked things out. She is now in her 3rd week as manager an loving it. God will work things out if we just wait on him. Also....there was a nice little pay raise for her. This also will help out greatly. For I have a daughter heading off to college this fall. …

Isn't it neat that our God controls even the weather? Our church's door-knocking night is Tuesday. The rain this summer has excellent timing -- it almost always rains on Tuesday evening. This last week, we prayed that it wouldn't rain so we could go door-knocking. Guess what? It rained buckets after we got finished! Last night, we wanted to pass out tracts to the crowds at the football game. It was supposed to rain (again), which would affect the turnout somewhat as it was an open stadium. We prayed that it wouldn't rain that evening, and God held off the rain all day. We were able to pass out quite a few tracts to the crowds of people (and not all of them were…

My father in law was a Marine - wounded twice on Iwo (once left for dead, tagged to bag), Korean War vet, retired during 'Nam in 1963 because the Corps had gotten too soft. Had a stroke 15 years ago and was told he'd never speak, eat, write, or walk again and regained all of the above. He was raised old world German, Illinois yankee, Catholic. We have prayed 32 years, been thrown out of his house for trying to witness to him, had him shake his fist in my wife's (his daughter's) face & threaten her for sending someone over to witness to him. He's 82 years old. Yeterday morning he got SAVEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luke 16:19-31 was the portion of Scripture that the Lord used to lead me to the Lord. I did not want to go to hell, and the Lord graciously saved me that night back in 1969 during a Billy Graham Crusade from Anaheim, California. I do not agree with Billy Graham on many issues, but the Lord used him to lead me to Himself that night long ago!

My parents just bought us a new house just three small blocks form church. It was really cool and a great blessing, we were looking in one price range and not finding anything, so we looked one price jump up, and found a beautiful house with so much room for just one hundred dollars more a month. and did i mention how close it is to the church? my dad and brother can walk to men's prayer the first of every month, and it takes like no gas to get there!

This week was our VBT at church. We had over 90 kids saved this week! Two nights ago on the way to church, Jonathan kept saying, "Hurt" and pointing to his face. He was lacking energy and such. The nursery worker said she had never seen him act like this and thought maybe he was getting sick. On the way home, he cried so I rubbed his head lightly, and when I would stop, he would cry again. We pulled into our driveway, and I started to get out of the van when he threw up all over him and his car seat (egg and sausage sandwich) - GROSS!! Thankfully, Elizabeth did not have to work that night, so she helped in the clean up process. Then tonight, as we went to pick u…

Praise God for his beauty. Yesterday I went to Ohiopyle State Park. It's 20 miles from my house in the Appalachian Mts of SW PA, which is in my opinion the most beautiful part of the country. I went swimming in the Youghiogheny (that's fun to spell) River. Somehow I enjoyed it. I'm not an outdoors kind of person. I like to be outside, but not doing that sort of stuff. Anyway, it was so beautiful. I think this weekend I'm going to take another drive up through the mountains on US 30 - such a beautiful road to drive on. Has anyone else had the pleasure of visiting SW PA?

http://www.persecution.com/basic/featur ... rchives=12 That link above is the story of a Christian man (Alex) in Colombia, South America. We heard the end of the story last night at church and saw a picture of the two men together in the following story: The end of the story is that the very man (a guerilla soldier named Ishmael) who shot and severely injured Alex was finally caught and put in the prison where Alex was ministering. Ishmael didn't know who Alex was at the time and eventually Alex led Ishmael to the Lord. Later, Ishmael found out Alex's story and became very afraid because he (Ishmael) was the one who had harmed Alex and he didn't think Alex could fo…

I was not raised in church from childhood on up. The only 'church' related topics for me was funerals and weddings, and I did not attend many of those either. I was a pretty good kid, not a real trouble maker, and not rebellious. I got into a lot of things I wish I had not, but hindsight is 20/20. One day I met this girl, we wanted to see more of each other. Her mother told me that if I was going to date or see her daughter I would have to attend church with her. No problem! I could fool anyone I wanted to, or so I thought. As I entered the first service iknew I was in for it. The preacher spotted me amd came straight over to where I was. He introduced himself, and as…

I was baptized again last night! 1 2

Hi everyone. I was baptized again last night. The reason is because I do not feel that my previous two baptisms were valid. The reason is that my heart and mind was not in the right place for the first one although the form was valid. The reason for the second one is that it was a Mormon baptism. Yes, I converted to Mormonism last year but I have left the Mormon church and am in the process of officially removing my records from the Mormon church. I am ashamed of myself that I fell to the Mormons seductive doctrine. Anyway, my baptism last night was the first time I have been validly baptized because for the first time, I was baptized with the proper state of mind …

My wife and I do the nursery for the RU program and we had 15 kids ranging from 3 months to 11 or 12 (I don't remember how old the oldest was for sure) and the adults had 37 people tonight. We always have refreshments afterwards, but tonight, they had to do a food run during RU to get more food. I remember the days when we had my kids and 1 other in the nursery. I took the 8 oldest kids down to our gym and found an oversized soccer ball and we played games for an hour while my wife watched the younger kids in the nursery. I then took my group back to the nursery (different room than the young ones, but right next door) and we played some board games and such that w…

I Peter 5:6-7 says, "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you." Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for His wonderful Word for He instructs us to humble ourselves in His sight, and then He will lift us up! Praise Him most of all for His loving care for us as His children! :amen:

The Lord really pricked my heart yesterday at church. Our pastor and his wife went to Toledo to speak at a Couples Conference on Friday and Saturday, and then Pastor was preaching all day Sunday there, so in his place we had evangelist Lou Difilippantonio preaching for us. He said something that has been not only a definite prick from the Lord, but also a blessing. He said: "We sing the song "Jesus Paid it All", but in your life is Jesus getting all that he paid for?" I still say WOW when I think of that. I had to do some serious searching in my heart to see if Jesus is getting the all that he paid for, and the answer taht I kept coming up with was no. So I praise t…

I'm never more thankful for my good health than after a rough day/night. Last night I had a horrible migraine where I'd rather have my head cut off than go through it! :hide But I finally got to sleep and now it's morning, and my headache is gone and my appetite is back!!! Praise God that most of my days are migraine-free!!!!!!!

I start a new job tomorrow. It's my first full-time job. For the last 5 years I've been delivering newspapers for a local paper, but now I work full-time for my hometown newspaper. It's kinda nice since it is only 4 blocks from my house. I'm still going to be delivering papers at this job, too. I guess newspaper delivery is my calling in life.

I was 24 years old, had been in church most of my life. But I was lost, didn't care about church, and didn't know God. I went because my parents made me go. But on that Sunday morning, Mother's Day, 1985, I was under deep conviction as they sang "love lifted me". Then the preacher preached with love and compassion from the 23rd psalm. God was calling to me personally that morning. He showed me that He loved me. I had been a wicked sinner but He loved me. I heard no supernatural, audible voice except the words of the preacher. Jesus was speaking to me...He was there in the room. I started to move then hesitated, then shook my head "no". I wasn't going to reject Hima nd g…
