Heads Up.... Travel tip -
We returned to a very hot hotel room tonight. Unit is controlled by a wall thermostat. Thermostat is set on 65. Temp is 78 in room. We go front desk to ask about changing room. "Oh... Have you been gone?".. the clerk says.

Turns out the thermostat has a motion sensor and even though set on 65 it shuts off if there is no movement in room. "Don't worry." She says. It will cool down now that you are moving around in room. "That's fine." I say. "But how does it keep going when we sleep?" I said. (the answer was that it doesn't)

So... when you book hotels ask if the air cond has motion sensing on it or you will be hot in the night!

More Al Gore "Green" policy stuff.....

If I'm paying for a room I expect it to be reasonably comfortable for me and my family.

There may be some folks who don't mind coming back to their room and it feels like an oven or going to bed comfortable only to be awakened in the night because the room is becoming hot and stuffy. They can stay in such rooms.

Right on, and usually you would not want to take the chance on opening a window & leaving it open if it happens to be one that will open, Most motel rooms with out the air on the hot weather feel like a furnace.
