Grilled tomatoes, then Sardine with a touch of wine vinegar in French Bread, followed by gooseberries and ice cream.

Just had bacon and grilled tomatoes for supper.

I had a cats-after-me at lunch.  I had prepared our meals in the kitchen and I carried them through to our conservatory which we use as a dining room.  As I stepped down into the room with a plate in each hand, I steeped on a glossy magazine that had fallen onto the floor.  My foot went forward and I went backward, both my arms went into the air and our plates ended up in pieces on the floor,

What it would have been was Ratatouille. steamed carrots and celery, Roast garlic new potatoes. with mushrooms for my wife and chicken in sage and onion gravy for me.

Ho hum.

Bad loss of a meal, I do hope you are feeling well after that.

Thanks.  Yes I am feeling better.  I have not been feeling good for weeks.  I went to the doctor on Monday. I had a pain in my upper right arm and couldn't lift my coffee cup or even raise my arm to turn my hearing aid on. Our church secretary said I should go to the Dr as his dad had that and it was the first sign of a heart attack.  My Dr said that was in the left arm.  He prodded around and said I had tennis elbow. The second thing was that I felt awful for days without knowing why,  My head would feel tight and I just felt awful, sometimes not able to get to the services. He said I should check my blood pressure when this happens.   Third thing was if I walk more than a short distance or do any bending whilst  gardening my calves get very painful and swell up. particularly my left one.  He said that was water retention and told me to stop taking one of my blood pressure tablets, which I did and since I did I have been feeling much better.  I've not tried walking too far yet, though.

Celebrating an A on my MTH 243 Probabilities and Statistics mid-term with 14 oz Rib Eye (rare), large baker potato loaded, fresh from home garden yellow neck squash, sliced beefsteak tomatoes from garden, and a spinach/banana/strawberry/coconut milk smoothie (don't knock it till you have tried it!).

Today I did tartiflette, a French cheese and potato bake,  I defrosted our freezer and noticed I had a Tartiflette cheese which has been in the freezer for over two years, so I thought I had better use it.  Following the instructions on the packet (a first for me) I boiled (I actually steamed) 1 Kg (2.2lbs) potatoes, peeled and sliced. Packet says boil them first and peel and slice them after.  Then brown them each side in a little oil.  Place in a baking tray and add lardons.  Cut the cheese in two horizontally and place on the potatoes crust side down.  Bake in an oven at 210C, thermostat 7 for 30 minutes or so till the cheese is melted and brown.  Recipe says serve with salad.

That is the recipe, but I found it a bit dry and here is how usually do it.

Slice or chop the potatoes and steam or boil them. I the meantime slice an onion and soften it in a pan with oil.  Put them in a bowl with the potatoes and ad two or three tablespoons of cream and some lardons (I use smoked Lardons.)  I use any soft cheese, Camembert, Coulomiers, soft  goats cheese etc.  I usually add some other grated cheese,

Tartiflette is a soft French cheese of  500 grammes.  Lardons are small pieces of bacon. I usually use smoked lardons.  If you cannot get them in your store you can use bacon cut into small pieces.

egg and cheese on toasted English muffin, followed later by a slice of peach pie

Not keen on English muffins, in fact I haven't seen them in the shops recently, but then I haven't looked,  Peach pie sounds nice.

I usually don't care for English muffins plain, but toasted with egg, maybe some bacon or cheese, I like them.

The peach pie was very good. A lady at the church made several and gave one to my wife. Very nice of her and she's obviously very good at baking peach pie.
