When I'm riding in the car and the Captain's Club comes on I don't change channels...I listen to as much as I can. My children are grown and have left the nest so, there is no excuse there, I just enjoy it.

How about the riddle in the middle?

What's the Captain's Club?

It's on BBN every week day at 4:00 PM Eastern. It's a children's half-hour program.

Sugar Creek Gang
Riddle In The Middle
Bible Quiz (KJB)
Story Time (today was about old folks-senior citizens and how children should prize them...particularly Christian elderly)

I still listen to the Sugar Creek Gang when I get the chance which isn't often.

Most every Sat. morning my daughter and I listen to the Children's Bible Hour, Patch the Pirate, Adventures in Odyssey, and Tinyburg tales.

I'm right there with you. I didn't know how much I had missed riding here or there with my oldest son and listening to these shows. He was 4-6 years old then, now he's soon to be 33. I can still enjoy discussing with him our great God and Savior.

I was able to give each of my children a gift with 3 John 1:4 inscribed on it this past Christmas.

3 John 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

My husband used to manage a BBN station in FL and we met many of the people you hear daily on there. The Captain and Sparkle are just as nice or nicer in person as they are on the radio. Lovely, wonderful people.

Things aren't going well, 1Tim115. I've just googled 'Captian's Club' and 'BBN' to try to find a radio stream I could hear and the first hit was a reference to the show in a blog called 'transplant ministries':

Oops! :frog

Still searching for a stream, btw. I don't think it airs in the UK.

Christ asked us to be like little children.

Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The review above, "The truth is that "The Captains Club" is one of the worst Radio Drama's I have ever heard in my life." is not from the heart of a child of the King. No, the Captain's Club would not draw rave reviews among the great literary and theater critics nor from the unconverted. But the mind of a child could see those words become real as easily as we see our reflection in a mirror. I had my grandaughter listen with me one afternoon and she was so quiet and attentive. It was a blessing.

I believe you can listen through the link 88keys posted.

How often do we sing Jesus Loves me, remember it?

Jesus loves me this I know For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong They are weak but He is strong

Yes, Jesus loves me, Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me, The Bible tells me so

Jesus loves me He who died Heaven's gates will open wide
He will wash away my sin Let His little child come in.

Jesus loves me He will stay Close beside me all the way
He's prepared a home for me And someday His face I'll see.

1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

It surely is a great song with much doctrine in it, I found myself singing it just today.

Think of everything it is teaching.

The unconditional love of Christ

The authority of the scriptures

Power only through Christ and not self

Christ alone for salvation

Christ always remaining with the believer

The heavenly reward of believers

That is a great deal to fit in a simple children's song. I wonder how many people it has blessed throughout the years.

The Captain's Club is not a radio drama! Adventures in Odyssey is a radio drama. The Captain's Club is just a fun time meant for kids in the afternoon after they get out of school and before supper.

Yes, we listen to it. And if we hear a particularly funny or clever joke, we will share it at supper. We listen to the Saturday morning lineup as well with our kids.
