I am KJV only, and that is one reason the Lord led me here. I was
so tired of other people telling me what the Bible said. I have the Holy Spirit and He will teach me. He also sends Friends, Preachers and Sunday School teachers to teach me. But the confusion comes when
everyone has a different Bible with a different meaning. I want to learn and grow in the Word of the Lord. Besides, we are all at different places in our growth and understanding of the Word. What I may understand about Justification and Santification would be baby talk to some of you. God will teach us step by step, precept on precept, as we grow and desire the meat of the Word. No one can prove the exact meaning of some words. Some know the exact meaning but by the Holy Spirit.
Not Greek or Hebrew.

This board is a KJB board. It beleives that the KJB is withour proven error. If you beleive that there could have been a better translation, you are entitled to that belief, but we are not interested in that opinion.

Lately I have noticed a few posters that are obviously not KJB only, making comments about our beloved Bible that asperse doubts on the the text, the underlying TR text, the translators and how they were inconsistent in translating words... etc.

If you are of the opinion that the KJB is merely a "good" translation but the Greek or Hebrew can allow you to correct it, then perhaps you should keep that opinion to yourself. Lexicons are not sufficiently authorative as they are all tampered by personal opinion and many are put out by what we would call heretics. Yes, even James Strong was suspect in some areas of doctrine and his conclusions on etymology will demostrate that.

I would prefer to remain ignorant and unlearnt in your eyes before I let you subtily correct my Bible.

I would guess that my knowledge of MSS evidences and readings, conflations, texts types, collations are just as every bit as good as yours or even better, so I fear no argument, I just don't care to hear them.

Let me remind you as a member of this board, that I like the idea of being where the KJB will not be questioned. If you think your knowledge of the mss. Greek or Hebrew is better than that of the august groups of men who worked on the KJB, then you need to go check your ego in at the door before you come here. There isn't a man alive today that could hold a candle to that committe of translators. Nor has there been since.

Thank you for your time.

God bless,

Calvary

Hmm... I don't really see any point getting into a debate or discussion over the KJO issue, especially since the points I brought up about the issues of believing it could not be answered, and hence ignored. As people pointed elsewhere in this thread, it's not like everything here hasn't been brought up before.

I think the problem is from what I can see written in your post, is you think people that are not KJO have some huge ego problem. I do not compare myself to a Bible translator, I just look at the facts, and the facts don't lead to the KJO position, my issues are not that many, but they are strong enough to blow the delusion of the KJV being 100% perfect without any loss of meaning. Things like the phrase "God forbid" being there when the word God is not even in the Greek, the fact their is words that do not exist in English, sentence tenses that do not exist in English, words that are not translated and so on.

Anyways, I am not here to argue about the KJV as you can see out of how many posts I talk about it out of my plus 400+ posts, I like talking about other subjects, but when something comes up about it, I don't believe that my personal opinion should be shunned and/or silenced.

I don't know what points you speak of. Are they in this thread. I didn't "ignore" anything, so that's what I am saying, but we can't see our own arrogance can we? You actually think you know more about the Greek than the translators. That is where I have to say, HOOEY!.

Mé genomaí, "God forbid" is an accurate translation and you couldn't proove otherwise. You are merely repeating what you were told.

Even James Strong lists it in G1069 as viable.

All "facts" are always tainted by personal opinion. Yours, mine. That's just the way it is. History is written and rewritten according to the "facts".

I just look at the facts too, and they lead me to the conclusion that the
KJB is error free and that those that think not are deluded.

See? See the difference.

Oh, I see. Alen said it wasn't, so it must be so. I guess I'll drop the faith I have in my book 'cause some guy on a forum board said I was deluded. He should know right? (sarcasm intended)

So, yes, I do find that there is just as much ego involved on the MV side as there is on the KJB side.

Your post demostrated your pride.

I love when MVO people use this statement. When they get an answer they do not like they cry, "You could not answer it, and ignored me because you knew I was right". :roll

Alen, you told us in a previous thread that you do not believe the Bible to be 100% preserved in any form including the originals. I am not going to a debate someone that thinks all Bibles are corrupt. No point to it. You do not know which parts are correct and which are corrupt. You play it by the law of percentage.

And please do not try and turn this topic into a debate.

Actually, Alen, the questions you thought could not be answered have ALL been adequately addressed and answered fully in many different threads on these boards. Brandplucked has addressed the "God forbid" one in a certain thread (perhaps it might be on his own website). Feel free to do a search for it. The others have all been answered through the years too on these boards,
