no. But my dad is a mechanic and it was the only vehicle he could afford to keep it in a working condition. Ford trucks are great. they seem to last forever.

I am sure people remember him by the truck he drives.

Do you remember people by what they drive?

YES! :tum

At times I will speak with friends from back in high school, I will say what kind of car so and so drove, usually the color and if it was a 4 door sedan, 2 door, or a hardtop.

But I know nothing about modern cars, they all look the same!

LOL. That's alright Suzy, my mom used to leave us in the car sometimes. Not sure about when we were babies because I don't remember that far back. :wink And my mom is awesome too, so I won't hold it against you. :thumb

After discussing this with Kitagrl, we have decided to re-open this thread. However, I have deleted a couple of posts. We all love our children deeply and would do anything for them. This is a wonderful topic to discuss, but do not make this a thread to personally attack someone who does not agree with you.

Thank you,
Pastor J

I deleted a couple more posts. I did not realize I was "attacking" anyone and I humbly apologize, again. You are right - I don't know Suzy - I only know what she posts about herself and her family.

Thank you.

To get this back on it's original topic, I have never left my children in the car to go into a store. I have heard too many news articles of cars being stolen while someone went into a store for just a couple minutes.

I didn't see nothing as a personal attack.

But I suppose there might be time when I post a post that it seems that way.

We all have opinions on most subjects, but if it differs, that does not mean we are attacking.

There was a time in this part of the country, rural Arkansas, one did not have to worry about leaving their children in a car, but that time has gone into history, but it still would probably be much safer to do that here than in many parts of America.

Rightly now days its hard to trust anyone out there in the world, one never knows what bad thing will happen next. And there seems to be always someone lurking out there looking for an opportunity to do bad things.

Hey, I never leave my house unlocked nor my keys in the car, I surly would never leave a child in a car.

And I know it is a hardship at times not to, but I have just heard of way to many bad things happening to some who have done this.

Hey...I can remember vividly at least once when I left my new born son in a locked car... :duh Of course...it wasn't intentional...we had just driven home from my parents...and I got out of the driver's side to go around and get Chris out of the car seat...and too late realized I had locked him....and the keys in the car....

Let me tell you there was panic....I just prayed don't let him start crying....and How am I going to get him out.... :pray

He just looked at me and grinned...thank you Lord...

Just then a police cruiser drove by and I frantically waved it down...He couldn't get the car open, but he contacted a locksmith for me....

Thankfully the whole time, Chris was very quiet...I would have had to smash out a window if he had freaked or started choking or something....

So...to make a long story short...yes I have Left my kids in a locked car.... :nono: :ooops

Accidents do happens to everyone. I'm sure that was a terrible feeling.

I feel sure all of us around here have done dumb things at different times in our life and we can be thankfully that nothing bad came of it.

But, some times when we do dumb things, we're not so fortunate and bad comes of it.

Like the incident of the man whose child was found in the septic tank. I can easily understand how a father and or a mother with 2 young children might carry one to the car, them go back and get the other one.

I have heard of children getting hurt and someone would say the parents should have been watching them closer, saying it in a way that implies nothing such as that could happened to them or their children. Its impossible to watch you child or children ever second. A child can be doing something they shouldn't be doing in the blink of an eye.

I remember one time at a friends house. He and I were taking time about jumping out of the loft of their tall barn, we were probably 7 or 8. His dad caught us doing this, we didn't do it anymore! :eek
