Since it was brought up in the other poll, I thought it would be best to make a new poll for this question:

Would you be involved with a ministry that was not KJVO?

I would if I felt like it was a good ministry and it was where God wanted me. After all, if it was where God wanted me serving Him, then it doesn't really matter what I thought about it anyway. :thumb

I am technically involved in a ministry that is not KJVOnly. I work at the local Gospel Mission - so it is a paid job. They do not hinder me from preaching and teaching from the KJV, nor do they tell me what to preach. When I started volunteering and preaching there, I had to agree to a basic doctrinal statement, but did not have to agree with, endorse or participate in any of their ecumenical associations, nor their particular Bible versions. That didn't change when I got hired there.

Basically it is a job with ministry opportunities. Certainly a learning experience! Perhaps down the road I can work at one that is KJVOnly, as I can see some things that would be strengthened and reinforced if there was that standard set down right from the start (for example, when someone wants a Bible or when statements made during others' preaching that contradict passages in the KJV (but are in line with whatever version they might be quoting).

I wonder what is the biggest KJO ministry, compared with one that isn't KJO. I would help out with any that God touched my heart about, and of course that were sound in presenting the gospel, and depending on what the ministry does, sound doctrinally elsewhere as well.

Me neither, usually anything tied to the MV's of the Bible is liberal in their beliefs and views.

For instant, in the past several weeks I have been dealing with my sick cousin, his other 1st cousin is a dedicated SBC Church member and of course she uses any and all versions of the Bible.

We spoke of finding out our cousin has a drinking problem.

She expressed, there is nothing wrong with a man who carries a bottle in his car or truck, or keeps one at home, and they take a drink from it once in a while. That is just normal for a man! Even a Christian man.

Before her husband got sick and died he taught young teens in Sunday School and was also a deacon, and always kept a bottle handy to have a drink from time to time.

Of course she thinks any book that says "Holy Bible" on its cover is the Word of God and those who believe that way are useally very liberal.

Well, it depends on where you look, KJO people are a minority in the Christian world, thus there is less of them being "liberals". I know of churches that use MVs that are exactly like our church, some are even stricter on things like music, than we are. Percentage wise, I bet you would see no difference between those that are KJO and those that are not in reference to being liberals.

I don't think that they are all liberals either. A lot of them are more conservative than us in other areas and a LOT of them are very sincere in their desire to serve God and win others to Christ. In fact, I would say some are more sincere.

I would rather say a more important thing is the key doctrines the group believes. Bible version do count, but key doctrines are even more important.

For instance, will you fellowship with a KJVO and Fundamentalist in ethos, but are Calvinist infant-sprinklers? Highly unlikely so.

Here, as in the other thread, there is no simple yes or no answer.

The question pertains to KJVO. No, I would not be involved with non-KJVO ministries.
Yes, there are some KJVO who do not hold the same doctrine I do on some subjects, no, I would not fellowship with them either. But that is not the question asked.

Let's stick to the question, and not put conditions as on the other thread, or else we might see Separation, Part 3

So you would cut off fellowship with other believers, other Christians who are part of the family of God, simply because some of their beliefs don't line up with yours? That could be taken to any extreme depending on how high you personally regard different standards. You could start cutting fellowship with women who wear pants, with Christians who go to the theatre, with people who have different political beliefs. Where does it end?

Again. What do you mean by fellowship?

My concept of fellowship is

1) going into another church, such as mormon, catholic, lutheran, methodist or some other church that uses MVs and worshiping with them. And even if they used the KJV I would have to look to see if they came close to my doctirnal stance on salvation, baptism, etc

2) Going to a promise keepers gathering

3) Working in a mission or ministry or other religious gathering

I do not wish to imply that I do not want these other organizations to exist NOR do I insist that they see MY viewpoint. I am the one not choosing to minister or associate with them because of MY convictions. I am free to desire to partake in ministry or religious activities with whomever I wish to, as is everyone else.

I have friends and co-workers who do not hold my views. I am friendly, gracious, couteous and civil to them and witness when possible and spend some nice times relating my beliefs.

Not everyone who calls themselves Christian is. Some others CALL themselves Christians, but have some very off kilter docrtinal and cultish viewpoints.

If I were someplace where there were other religious organizations partaking in something, such as a park, amusment park, non-religios community event, then I would be more than civil and most likely enjoy talking with them and sharing, listening and witnessing to them.
