Possible Promotion At The Mission

I have been working for just over six months at the Kelowna Gospel Mission. We have one of our Day Supervisors (one of the higher positions in the Mission) that is leaving in less than three weeks. I was approached on Sunday as to whether I would be interested in this position! Turns out I was the only one they are considering if they do an internal hire (they don't really want to go outside of their current staff unless they need to).

I was asked various questions about my confidence in my job - as it turned out, to see if I would be able to take on the added responsibility that would come with this other position. I think my answers were satisfactory. Then he told me he would talk to the head of the whole Gospel Mission (Executive? - I think that was his title), and see how that goes, but he wanted to see if I was interested first. I told him I was willing to walk through whatever doors God opened for me in this field, and that I am 100% sure that I am where He wants me to be right now.

I need prayer and wisdom. I am not sure how quickly they will get back to me, but they do need to make this decision soon. So far, I do have peace of mind about this - but I did want to spend a bit more time in prayer (if I do have that time).

All I can think of is, Wow. That was fast! God opened that door so quickly!

Thank you for your prayers. I am unsure whether to wait until they contact me or go seek them about their decision. Any suggestions?

My dad always taught me that if you want a job, you show them you want it by (not nagging) calling a second time to ask.

The part time job I had here, I did end up after a couple of weeks calling back...and found out that the guy who had all but hired me got fired and there was a employee shift going on so that is why it took awhile.

Anyway yeah, communication is the key. By your friendly communication they will know you are serious about the position.

yeah, call them after it been about 1 to 1 1/2 week after the interview to let them know you are very interested in the job. Did you say that they wanted to see how interested you are?

Most jobs make their decision by the end of the month (well for my husband, they do) , while some let you know within 2 weeks.
