Yes, and there be women who think being in porn movies is not degrading.

I even talked to a good Baptist lady once, by the way, she informed me that she was a good Baptist lady, she informed me that she worked in the Triple XXX store and there was nothing wrong with doing so, that even thought she had to work on Sunday's she always made sure her 2 daughters were in church being taught the proper way to live. I did ask her about the example she was setting by working in a Triple XXX store. Her answer was, I've got to have a job, its the only one I can find and I'm staying with it. The last I heard, its been a few years, one daughter had a baby and no husband, the other daughter had a baby one the way and that she still claims to be a good Baptist lady.

So now, in 2009, if something is not in the Bible, them does that make it OK to do? You know thinking like this is what the Roman Catholic Church does and they do not teach a person how to be saved.

This is, to me, disgusting. The man is the head of the house, no-one would dispute that. But what is his wife? She is to be in subjection to him, with all reverence, no-one would dispute that (well, no-one who knows what the Bible specifically says would, anyway!). But is she not his partner? His partner in life and in child-rearing?

While they behold the chaste conversation (lifestyle)...not enforce with spankings!

I'm sorry, but I don't see how spanking a wife gives her honor. It just escapes me.

I do know that many women who are in a physically abusive relationship believe that they deserve it - they've done something to make their man angry, and so must be punished. This is the same type of reasoning behind CCD. One of the testimony's even sounded like it...they "test spanked" and he told her that (10 swats) wasn't enough, so when she "needed" discipline for something, it would be worse - and he would give her reminder swats during the following weeks. Yuck. She had a habit he didn't like, so was going to use that to help her. And she loved him more than ever for it.

I'm sorry, but I just don't buy it. My husband deals with me in a loving way - without laying a punishing hand on me. When I do something wrong, he lets me know - and he's more than willing to work with me to conquer something, but not by spanking. He honors me as his wife, not his underling to be punished when I've displeased him.

One of the big problems that I see with this type of thing is, as I mentioned earlier, the wife is to be the husband's partner. But if she can be spanked just like the kids, how does that make her any different? At least in the kids' eyes? I mean, take it to the extreme (and it would go there with some - things always do), and you'd have kids tattling on mommy...

I fear that this kind of thing would cause the children to not respect their mother, in many ways. And it could set them up to either be abusers (boys) or abused (girls) when they become adults.

There is no scripture that commands it. There is no scripture that says not to do it. But I think there is plenty in there about the relationship between the husband and wife that would teach that it isn't right.

I'm thinking that this site is done by Christians who want to justify their kink! It's too bad they have to make claims that their intimate preferences are at the direction of Lord. Why don't they just admit they like this stuff in the bouduair and leave it at that. It's really nobody's business anyway.

Because like many false teaches, they want to change God to suit them, do so they can say that we're just obeying God and thus trying to justified their actions in front of men.

But there will be many who will probably accept it as truth, and someone will probably make lots of money off of it.

And perhaps they're reprobates.

Yes' date=' and there be women who think being in porn movies is not degrading.[/quote']

C'mon Jerry, I don't like it any more than you. If you're going to compare it with something however, let's not mix apples and oranges. At least stay within the civility of logical debate. Obviously, there are several passages that condemn pornography. No tear-jerking illustration is going to cover up that fallible leap of logic.

I stated a truth about porn, if you don't like it, that's fine, don't pay it no mind and leave it along.

There are both men and women who call their self saved and attend very conservative churches that love and enjoy such things that are sins against God. Just as I mentioned the Baptist lady in a topic recently who worked in a Triple XXX store and felt there was nothing wrong with it.

Just because something is not in the Bible doesn't make it A OK, does not mean its not a sin. Don't add to nor take away, take the Bible for what it is and what it says, it is our only instruction book.

What are you talking about? You must have missed this part of my post concerning pornography:

Obviously, there are several passages that condemn pornography.

No one said that your statement on pornography was false. No one messed with it. I just said the analogy was flawed - and it still is. I agree with not adding to or taking away from the Bible. If you are sincere in teaching the Word, however, when someone asks why something is wrong - it may be better to use actual Scripture than a gruesome illustration and a rant against pornography.

Then again, if you aren't trying to teach actual Bible, then disregard this post completely and I apologize for the assumption. :wink You know, today was the reading and comprehension section of the FCAT testing...

These words be what I replied to.

<<"Some women obviously do not view spanking as degrading.">>

Which was written by Annie.

My purpose was that it really does not make no difference what some women think is degrading Some women not thinking acting in porn movies is just as valid as that statement.

Which the purpose of my statement is that God's Word is all that counts, it is our Instruction Book, it alone, not what some women think and are what some person has written.

One more thing, God's Word does cover every situation, although it may not state something specifically.

For instant, the Bible does not say that smoking Camels woudl be bad for you, but it does state this in other ways. Of course if the early people had read, Thou should not smoke Camels, they woudl have had no idea at all what that meant. It woudl probably have worried them sick. Every time they made a fire they would have probably done everything they could to keep the smoke from drifting across where the camels were for fear of smoking their camels. And of course later when Camels started being made by man everyone would know what it meant.

So being as this Instruction Book, The Holy Bible, was written by God for all man thru all ages many things are not specifically mentioned as being right or wrong, but if we will study the Bible, we can learn right from wrong, and come to a conclusion on whether those questionable things are right or wrong for us. Saying its ok because its not in the Bible is not the way to make a decision whether something is right or wrong for us to partake of.

I hope I made it a bit clearer, that because "Some women obviously do not view spanking as degrading," is not a sign that its OK and not a sin for man to spank his wife, or because its no in the Bible does not make it OK.

Jerry, my point was that the only reason that has been given for thinking that "consensual wife spanking" (my weirdo term for the equally weird practice) is sinful is that most people consider it to be degrading. Remove that objection, and there is nothing else to go on (at least nothing else posted here). So...if the only objection to the practice is that many people consider it to be degrading, then why is it sinful to those who do not consider it to be degrading?

With porn, Scripture is clear as day: lust for someone who is not your spouse--which is the only purpose of porn--is flat-out forbidden and condemned in many, many passages. Yes, it is degrading to women, but that's not the thing that makes it wrong (or at least not the only possible objection to it). So, your porn analogy isn't really relevant to this topic. (There is no Scripture which addresses "consensual wife spanking," as opposed to many, many which address lusting, coveting your neighbor's wife, etc.)

Would "husband spanking" also be as degrading and sinful?

No -it would be reversing roles of who is supposed to be in charge! and deep down--wierd and gross but that part is my opininon!-This entire discussusion has been very strange to me! :2cents Pixiedust

Yeah, I get that. When you replied to me, you said:

Bluebirds are blue, and this is truth, but it means nothing in this conversation. This, however, is what both of my posts were trying to say, on behalf of Annie.

Saying something is in the Bible is not as convincing as showing where it is in the instructions manual.

I heard about a guy who tried spanking his wife, he gave her a good one! He didn't see her for nearly two weeks. After two weeks, he began to see her out of his left eye. :hide
