I should change my vote. My husband and I both got a little sick after we drank the last cup of it. Guess it might have been old. ew.

Ok, After looking it up, I didn't know that Mickey D's was a slang for McDonald. I never heard people call it that way here where I live. We always called it McDonald.

Anyway, Their sweet tea is yucky. It tasted like instant iced tea mix. I like them freshly brewed. And I like Arby's sweet tea alot better. Sometimes I would fill my cup with a 3/4 of unsweetened tea and 1/4 of sweetened tea. I don't like them too sweet.

Yeah, I forgot that I had Arby's tea about three weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised that it was good - definitely didn't taste like instant!

Mickey D's Sweet Tea, never heard of it. :puzzled:

But that said, I have always drank sweet tea at home, but we just call it tea.

I recall in times past when you ordered tea at a restaurant it was never sweetened, so I would not order it, for once it has been made you just can't get enough sugar in to to make it sweet without having about an inch or more of sugar in the bottom of the tea glass and people would accuse you of using to much sugar.

If tea is sweetened as it is made it does not take near as much sugar to sweeten it.

I didn't know that, Jerry - I know iced tea is never sweetened out here, and it's hard to do it yourself just right. The McDonald's here don't sell it, but I do know their coffee is awful.

I've been using the 'cold brew' Lipton to make our tea lately. No heating water or steeping time so it's cooler to drink sooner and doesn't melt the ice in the glass. I use 3 family size bags and it only takes about 5 minutes or less. Then I add a heaping 3/4 cup of Splenda grandular sweetner to a gallon. It's great!

Before Mike and I became diabetics we used 1 cup of sugar for a gallon and it was sweet enough for us. Growing up, each of our Mothers used 2 cups of sugar for a gallon, but after we married I slowly cut back on the sugar from 2 cups to 1 and stuck with that recipe.

I can't eat splenda, I wish I could but it gives me a severe upset stomach, makes me bloated and few other things. That's why I use alittle bit of sweetened tea in my unsweetened tea instead of using sweeteners.

Recently, I found that I can use "Only Sweet" sweetener without the upset stomach. YAY!
