Have you noticed that lately there is a spirit of fear everywhere we turn? It has permeated just about every aspect of our society.
I thought it may be helpful, that in leiu of this, to look at scriptures that can help us counteract fear and worry in our live. I will begin and then maybe all of you could help me out.

2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Yes. Anyone who is not close to the Lord. There is also a great increase in anxiety meds and other drugs to help people control their emotions. People know time is growing short for alot of things. They either hide behind continual sin or behind the drugs to forget and not be afraid instead of relying on God.

I am not pointing a finger at anyone. I am saying that we are continally exposed to an enviornment of fear and it may help all of us to review scriptures that can be hid in our hearts that we will not succomb to the temptation to fear.

Very true, fear is abounding. Fear over the economy and all the aspects that touches; fear of terrorism, fear of crime, health, etc. The markets are fearful of the government actions, the government is promoting fear in order to get their agenda passed.

"Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest." Joshua 1:9

I say' date=' don't be fearful.....be prepared![/quote']

I'm very prepared! I'm a born again believer in my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I'm sealed by the Holy Ghost who resides within me. I know that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

"And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?"

I've often wondered if things are really as bad in Amercia as the media portrays it. This concentrate all things bad done into a 30 min. or 1 hr. show. And FOX and CNN plays nothing but bad news in a continous loop all day long.

Scripture teaches us to "hide His Word in our hearts". (Ps 119:11) The Word of God is our Sword in battle without His Word in our hearts and minds a Christian will attempt to stand in our own strength. That is why I thought i would be helpful to review the scriptures that help us.

I have noticed fear everywhere in almost everyone. I do tend to worry about well, everything, so I need to be careful not to get sucked up into this cycle of fear. Maybe I am still young and naive, but I honestly don't think things are as bad as the media says. Food is plentiful, homes are everywhere, clothing is in excess, we are all so blessed! The Lord says He will always provide and I am inclined to believe Him :smile
