I wasn't to big on marking in my bible for awhile. Then a pastor had mentioned something akin to DL Moody's statement above. Now I mark often.

One of the reasons why I love this wide margin text only is for just that reason!

But, I think I find it easier to read a Bible that has only the text because I am so easily distracted. Its sooo much easier taking the time to go through the pages when I don't get distracted by pretty icons and commentaries.

BTW, could one of y'all tell me what a Pitt Minion is and why it may or may not be useful?

In my early Christian life I remember hearing some people saying it was disrespectful to mark in a Bible. It wasn't until many years later I learned different and I now have one Bible with much underlining a few notes.

Like you, I prefer to read a Bible without markings when I'm just reading. If I try reading my Bible with my markings, I tend to get distracted looking to see what I marked, or what note I may have written. The same is true if I'm reading a book with commentary on the page or icons.

Of course, that's more good reasons to own several Bibles! :Green

Did you figure out what Pitt Minion is yet? I'm searching for a Bible and came across this too but can't find what it means!
I have no idea!!
Each time i look on google i get directed towards Cambridge's website and the detail there is kinda confusing??!!
From what little I understood it was a different way of wording?
I'm hoping someone will come and chime in?

I have BPS bible. It helps me to write on the wide margin as reference and definition and little outline rather than the other KJV bibles have reference that some are off the point.

This is what one place says about it.

A brand new edition of the renowned New American Standard Bible, reflecting the best traditions of Cambridge Bible typography and production values.

Cambridge's original Pitt Minion Bibles were notable for their use of a compact typeface designed for Cambridge University Press in the heyday of hot-metal composition. They have been a feature of the Cambridge list for over half a century.

The NASB Pitt Minion Reference Edition now follows in this historic tradition, using a stylish modern digital typeface which like its predecessor combines utility and elegance. It uses the Lexicon typeface, carefully chosen for its economical use of space. This is the font used for dictionaries and encyclopedias because it accommodates a lot of characters in a small space. The result is a classic Bible for the twenty-first century produced in a remarkably compact yet readable form.

With my eyes it does not sound as if it would be easy to read.

My Scofield is easy to read, even for me. Hey, I don't need print to be compacted, I need it larger and stretched out.
