RIght - the NKJV is a counterfeit "King James". It is not solely based on the manuscripts behind the King James Bible, and is in fact an attempt to bridge the gap between the KJV and the modern versions. It is an attempt by the Devil to sucker you in to accepting many small changes in your Bible (in the range, literally, of 100,000 word changes!); some of which - whether by footnotes or actual textual changes - to sway you into accepting the wording/changes of the MVs.

Online Baptist is a KJB board and we will not change. Regardless of what you think, we have studied this out and believe that God has preserved His words for the English speaking people in the King James Bible.

You may lose your soul in gehenna for reading the NKJV translation. Yes I am kidding you.

Of course' date=' much can be said about the textual differences in the NKJV, (I'm KJVo) but I'm surprised that no one has brought up the symbol that is printed on the NKJV---anybody bothered by that?[/quote']Good Job BZ!!
Its copyrighted!!
The Bible shouldn't be copyrighted (save the notes/commentary or if you live in England?)!

Nice post, Alimantado. lol

I'm actually going to be using an NKJV when I go to Korea. I need to get an English-Korean Bible and the KJ version has the Korean translated from the KJV, which doesn't match the text used for church and family devotions that we'll have with the pastor and family every morning. So, in order to have English and Korean in one Bible, I need to get an NKJV, which I don't think is really all that different anyway.

The NKJV can also be called the NOT KJV. that would be a more accurate name. I know Zondervan has made several changes in their KJV. When I found this, I went and bought another brand. Any change to the Word is a perversion. Look at Revelation chapter 22, [18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
[19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Revelation chapter 22' date=' [18'] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
[19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

These verses are referring to the book of revelation. John of Patmos is saying that no one should add to his apocolyptic prophesy. It wasn't a part of the Bible when it was written, as there was yet to be a Bible. Now, I don't think anyone should be changing the Bible, but I don't believe that these verses are a a biblical mandate to not do so.

I realize that' date=' but in the NKJV, several verses in Revelation are changed, so either way, the NKJV authors are in trouble.[/quote']
They are changed from what? The KJV? Revelation wasn't referring to the KJV version. It's the message that's important. If we were to go by your standards, the KJV translators are in trouble for changing the words from Greek to English and further changing and adding to make it understandable in English.
