Members speerjp1 Posted July 27, 2008 Members Posted July 27, 2008 THEY ARE NOT VAGUE BROTHER. All but 1 out of more than 100 of the mainstream CCM artists and upincoming artist have preached the same Gospel you believe in and preach. Hear me they do use the name of Jesus ... It's not the same gospel and it's not the same Jesus. I got caught up in listening to CCM about 9 years ago when I was in college. I listened to it for about 5 years passively without any inkling of the poison contained in most of what is passed off as "Christianity" in their music. I've always been a conservative independent fundamental baptist and I was deceived into believing it was okay. As soon as I started growing in the Lord and paying attention to what was contained in those songs, I discovered something:CCM is eaten up with New Age teachings that, at best, can be described as dangerous and, at worst, can be described as anti-Christ. Just the other day I switched my radio back over to 106.9 the Light (straight out of the Cove in NC and they play only the mildest CCM compared to the other local station like 89.3 With Love From Jesus :loco ) and heard a song about how all we have to do is look within and we'll find that the answers to all of life questions can be found in ourselves. I was sickened just listening to this woman who was probably leading many fawning fans with no real Bible knowledge down a primrose path that leads to spiritual death and destruction. This type of generic New Age pop-psychology is prevalent in the vast majority of CCM. I know because I've listened to it a LOT in my life. Followers of Christ would be double-minded to listen to this junk... I know I was when I was listening to it. I was wrong. It is wrong. James 1:8 - A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Your wrong. You simply buy into the idea that your pastor does not approve therefore you cannot. List some artists and their lyrics and lets compare them to the Classic Hymns that all Denominations sing. Then we can point fingers. If you do not like it that is your stance but it is NOT wrong. It is no more wrong than you shopping at Wal-Mart. Yeah, think about ithat for awhile. Tank
Members Ashlee Posted July 27, 2008 Members Posted July 27, 2008 Room at the Cross for you -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The cross upon which Jesus died Is a shelter in which we can hide And its grace so free is sufficient for me And deep is its fountain as wide as the sea. Chorus There's room at the cross for you There's room at the cross for you Though millions have come, there's still room for one Yes there's room at the cross for you. Though millions have found him a friend And have turned from the sins they have sinned The Savior still waits to open the gates And welcome a sinner before it's too late. Chorus The hand of my Savior is strong And the love of my Savior is long Through sunshine or rain, through loss or in gain, The blood flows from Calvary to cleanse every stain. Chorus Just one song we all sing. It tells us we are sinners, and the blood of Calvary will cleanse every stain. It tells us Jesus died for us, and no matter how many come, still you can be saved. No matter our circumstances, the blood will cleanse us.

Members Ashlee Posted July 27, 2008 Members Posted July 27, 2008 LIES PROVE IT how? the bible says it is a shame for man to have long hair. 1 Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? There are specific places where men had long hair to mark them. Samson was a nazarite, that is why he had long hair. Jesus was not a nazarite. He looked just like his disciples, He was an ordinary man. That's why Judas had to point Him out to the multitude. Jesus wasn't a blonde haired blue eyed white man with an english accent.

The only one on here "pointing fingers" seems to be you.

The members here who disagree with you are not blindly following tradition or their pastors. Many of us are familiar with CCM and have made a prayerfully informed decision to stay away from it. Again, any more anti-Baptist comments will get you another warning. We are Baptists - deal with it, or move on. We are Baptists because we believe Baptist Distinctives and the Baptist denomination historically line up with the Bible.
Guest Guest Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 LIES PROVE IT Your asking me to prove a negative. You prove he did, you made the assertion. As has been said, scripture teaches that it is a shame for a man to have long hair. Jesus Christ was the Word made flesh. He isn't going to go against scripture. The bible never says Jesus had long hair, the only reason anyone supposes he did is due to the pictures people without knowledge of scripture attempt to draw of him. Christ doesn't look like the pictures...
Guest Guest Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Well I?m living with a power and I have never felt this way before Oh my mind is thinking clearly now The chains are broken and I?m standing tall Oh the Lord has never left me He?s always there to catch me when I fall Chorus: I believe in Jesus. Oh He?s Lord of Lords And King of Kings I believe in Jesus. He rescued me It really wasn?t long ago that I was bound by chains and trampled on I felt like all my days were numbered I felt so all alone, but I was wrong Oh the Lord has never left me. He?s always there to catch me when I fall (Chorus) That?s where I find my strength. Falling down like rain. It washes over me. He?s taken me so far. From where I used to be. He?s my everything. That?s why I believe... (Chorus) 7thdayslumber artist
