Members Genevanpreacher
MINNEAPOLIS (The Borowitz Report) – Scientists have discovered a powerful new strain of fact-resistant humans who are threatening the ability of Earth to sustain life, a sobering new study reports. The research, conducted by the University of Minnesota, identifies a virulent strain of humans who are virtually immune to any form of verifiable knowledge, leaving scientists at a loss as to how to combat them.“These humans appear to have all the faculties necessary to receive and process information,” Davis Logsdon, one of the scientists who contributed to the study, said. “And yet, somehow, they have developed defenses that, for all intents and purposes, have rendered those faculties totally inactive.”More worryingly, Logsdon said, “As facts have multiplied, their defenses against those facts have only grown more powerful.”While scientists have no clear understanding of the mechanisms that prevent the fact-resistant humans from absorbing data, they theorize that the strain may have developed the ability to intercept and discard information en route from the auditory nerve to the brain. “The normal functions of human consciousness have been completely nullified,” Logsdon said. While reaffirming the gloomy assessments of the study, Logsdon held out hope that the threat of fact-resistant humans could be mitigated in the future. “Our research is very preliminary, but it’s possible that they will become more receptive to facts once they are in an environment without food, water, or oxygen,” he said

Members Critical Mass
Sounds like satire or a cynical slap at Creationists. A lot of these Universities are beginning to cry about the "war on science" now because research money is getting low.
Members Genevanpreacher
Was meant to be an eye opener about some people who think they know it all. That's all. It's funny!
Members 2ndTimothy
It could also be applied spiritually to those who are locked into a "conviction" or belief based on their experiences without being compared to the Word of God in it's entirety. Prov. 18:13 "He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him." In other words we hear what we want to hear, believe what we want to believe in the flesh. Only in the Spirit can we hear the whole matter based on the Word of God. We have to have our hearts and minds receptive to what He says. Moderators Ukulelemike Posted November 15, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 15, 2015 I wonder if this author realizes that it could easily be applied in the reverse. Its a terrible thing when one believes they know it all. Even as believers, we can't hope to know it ALL, but there are some things we CAN know clearly. In the area of evolution vs Creation, its funny in the article, if applied to that, (though I suspect it was actually directed toward those against man-made climate change), that they speak of 'verifiable knowledge', when in fact, we ALL have the same evidence: bones and fossils; we just then interpret them differently, according to a pre-conceived bias, neither of which can, in this life, even be proven or verifiable. Once great age was assumed in the equation, all the science has that 'fact' built into the process, and it automatically formulated into the results. Its the same with climate change. HAS there been some climate change? I suspect so, in some sort or another. I know the last two winters where I live have been remarkably drier and warmer than for as long as anyone here can remember. However, I also know this area, all dirt and sagebrush and dryness, was once called 'the Land of the Never Sweats', because it was once so fertile you could grow crops without ever having to break a sweat. And even further back, it was part of a massive inland sea called Lake Lahotan, that stretched hundreds of miles through NE California down through a big piece of Nevada. So it seems to me that there has been significant change for hundreds, even thousands of years. I suspect it has been going on for at least 4400 years, since the flood, which probably cause the ice age, so-called, and the glaciers and has been receeding ever since. But, since scientists think that this change is something new, a change from an assumed 'constant', all of their computer models are biased with that assumption, and thus all their models are continually wrong. Antarctic ice will be gone by 2010...opps, actually, it's increasing. and yet if it DID melt off, well, we have maps of the antarctic without ice, so at one time, it was clear. Members Ronda
Yes, UkeleleMike", they first called it "global warming" but then enough scientists came forth proving them to be wrong, so they did the old switch-a-roo on the name and renamed it "climate change". You are 100% correct, it's been going on for much longer than power-plants and automobiles have been around. Let's take Israel for an example... way back in Moses' time, the bible called it the land of "milk and honey", it was fertile and crops were plenteous. Fast forward to after the Jewish people were driven off the land... it became a barren arid wasteland. Fast forward again to when the Jewish people came back in 1948, they again made it fertile and habitable. Now there's some "climate change" for ya, lol. The Agenda 21 and the 2030 agenda plans (sustainable blah blah) are just tools with which they intend to enforce global government. One more step towards a one-world government (in my opinion, as well as the opinion of many others). When the pope hops on board (which he has), it's another huge indicator of where it's heading. Members Invicta
The first climate change was the flood. The second was after the flood when Noah seemed to have noticed a change in climate so God said Gen 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
