We do have an eclectic collection here, don't we?

Apart from the regulars who hold to some weird ideas on a few things, we have the resident stirrer, the resident opposite viewer, a few bad spellers (serial that is- we all have our bad keyboard days), a couple of genuine oddballs - then we have a steady stream of wolves - along with a couple of wolves that keep making new logons and try to fool us - some obvious, some less so, and of course a few issues based persons.
A couple of real slack doctrine types, a couple of genuine liberals - which reminds me of the politically motivated - and more than a few who should probably be wearing tinfoil hats.

Now it seems most are relatively harmless, although there are some with intent.

Then there's the normal ones - like me and BroMatt. ;)

Don't stop there. Since the Bible talks about 'marking them'; let us know who fits in each catagory, therefore we'll know who to watch out for. Even if we must watch out for ourselves.

I have come to expect this from any IFB forum or blog I have frequented.  There are the "trolls" (online forum/blog term for those that exist purely to stir the pot), then those that purposely wish to sow discord among the brethren with known doctrinal issues from various other cults/religions, but then there are the genuine bible scholars/students that will discuss from scripture genuine non-controversial issues and questions and to fellowship with other brothers and sisters in Christ.  I frequent this site and others for these later participants.  Unfortunately, on this site I have come to the point where I will not even open and read a thread started by, commented to, or taken over by certain individuals who are decidedly trolls, or those wishing only to sow discord.  I think we should have a forum section called "cage fight" where those that love nothing more than to drag out of the garbage pile certain topics guaranteed to cause division and strife (standards, music, alcohol, Sabbath, dress, etc.) can have their fun.

I do NOT consider myself normal.  I don't think anybody who is IFB and lives a separated lifestyle can be considered anything but a peculiar people. Deuteronomy 14:2 (KJV  For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. Titus 2:14 (KJV  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Happily peculiar,

Bro. Garry

In His will.  By His power.  For His glory.

I forgot the add the resident wordsmith, and the preacher among preachers....

Those who create division here don't need to be named really - everyone knows who they are..... ;)

And of course we are a peculiar people, but some here are just plain strange!

Oh and of course our ukulele playing goat serenader (great voice by the way!) ;)

And ALL Aussies are normal............for Aussies........

But I will admit that my normal is not quite as normal as the normal normal.

Yeah, I've about had it with our resident new evangelicals. I vote we retreat into the IFB forum for a while until things calm down!

We shouldn't retreat but separate ourselves from that person; by throwing him out!  :knuppel:

Jeffrey sounds truly unknowledgeable on the music issue. Throwing him out isn't going to help him learn. If we can respond and teach him with patience, maybe he'll get it. For both of them, responding with kindness is going to get our point across a lot better than being rude - when we're rude, it gives them a reason not to accept what we are saying. A bad reason, but still. However, responding with kindness and patience takes.... patience. Which I don't have much of right now. :wink

Salyan, I'm less concerned with Jeffrey than with folks who are still drinking milk and may be led astray,  He's not showing a willingness to learn, just to push his wicked positions.

I gather he's not KJV or even TR which gets towards the root of the problem, bad associations to begin with.

Isn't he one of those drinking milk? And weren't all of us non-TR at some point? He isn't wicked - just untaught - maybe resistant - but still not wicked! Calling him such and acting rudely toward him or Grace isn't the right response, no matter how frustrated we are. I'm calling you on this, Swath, because the language you've been using toward the two of them gives them every excuse to ignore the truth of what you are saying. I would hate to see them permanently reject fundamentalism because of how you've been treating them.
