True, but the sin passes via the man. And, no, in no way was I intending to give the idea that anyone is excluded! And, yes, I think we are off topic... :icon_smile:

If the Spirit is leading, we are on topic my friends. Fear Not.

That happen to the church I was saved in. It was a Southern Baptist and the pastor's wife ran off with a church member. One Sunday about 1979 or 1980 he came in to the evening service carrying his baby son, crying up a storm and generally all to pieces. Its very tragic to the church body. We kind of shared his pain. They divorced and in some weird way the church went through it withĀ him. He left and became a prison chaplain. Much later ... he remarriedĀ ..... currently heĀ pastors another church in Bakersville that has a woman deacon, its a Southern Baptist Church.

Ā

I had left yet another church because something was wrong. I had no earthly idea but over and over and over Jesus gave them this horrible feeling and that I should leave them. Finally I listened and left. The next 3 years their church grew and it looked like I was a crazy man. I really questioned I had the right thing. Then out of the blue he left his wife and children for another woman. That church crumbled in around 1989ish andĀ to this day they are doing poorly. Some older preachers talked him into quitting for a while, he returned to his wife, and you guessed it heĀ pastors another churchĀ near Asheville. Ā

Ā

I've been a member of the best church in my life time for the last ten years. I'm very very thankful Jesus moved me to this church. Even if Jesus has us go though bad things don't give up. So many people today are giving up.

You always hear that Pastor or Preacher running off with the secretary. Did you ever hear of the preacher wife running off with a member? Probably not, Then why call the woman the weaker vessel. Is it herĀ  fault that this is taking place? A good preacher is never alone with a woman that is not his wife. But some think they are strong enough to be with one alone. They will just end up with a demotion from serving God. They remind me of the drug dealer that thinks he will never get caught. I never heard one saying; Iā€™m older now and ready to be retired. Iā€™ll stop selling drugs now.

Question

Ā

If a pastor did not go all the way, had sex with her, can he still be the pastor of the church. He was seen with a woman, than he repented and broked off with her.

Ā

Think 1 Timothy Chapter 3 tells us whether not he is qualified or fit to be a pastor. Ā

Ā

(1Tim 3:1 [KJV])
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

(1Tim 3:2 [KJV])
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

(1Tim 3:3 [KJV])
Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

(1Tim 3:4 [KJV])
One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

(1Tim 3:5 [KJV])
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

(1Tim 3:6 [KJV])
Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

(1Tim 3:7 [KJV])
Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Ā

Is he blameless? Is he of good behavior?Ā  Did he covet? Ā Does he have a good report of those out side of Christ, and did he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil?

There is something we have to keep in mind concerning Adam and Eve. It wasn't until Adam ate that both eyes where open. Eve was deceived and in the transgression, but Adam being the head of the house was responsible.

(Gen 3:6 [KJV])
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

(Gen 3:7 [KJV])
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

At my previous church, Assembly of God, we had 2 assistant pastors leave without any explanation to the church other than they have a great opportunity at another church. But everyone knew behind the scenes it was because of indiscretions with other female church members.

Why doesn't a church face a problem head on? Why does a pastor cover things up for him and just send him to another church with blessings? Isn't that like the catholic church? They send their problem priest (although for different reasons usually) to another church for them to deal with it?

How are the church people suppose to learn and heal from known problems if it's never addressed directly? All of a sudden they're just gone one Sunday to a better opportunity supposedly. People are left with open wounds that are never addressed. That pastor would never give a regular attender an explanation.

He left now too, probably to a better "opportunity".

Ā

I suppose its the easy way out.

Ā

Why is it that so many business that has someone steal from them tell that person, if you will quit, walk out right now, we will not prosecute? I know of this being done over thousands & thousands of dollars down to just over a few hundred dollars. I know of it being done in a new truck dealership, insurance agency, a bank, a grocery store.

Ā

Covering things up, that's exactly what David tried to do, & in the end he got caught, so will everyone else that goes down that path.

Ā

2Sa 12:1 Ā¶ And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
2Sa 12:2 The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:
2Sa 12:3 But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
2Sa 12:4 And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
2Sa 12:5 And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:
2Sa 12:6 And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
2Sa 12:7 And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
Ā
Yes, it seems even though churches & us Christians knows well we will never get away with it, we will still try to cover it up.
Ā

And of course public schools when a teacher has had some type of sexual indiscretion if the teacher will quietly leave nothing is said or placed in the records.

Ā

And of course when its handle in this manner all it does is pass the problem off to someone else whether its another church, business, & or public school.

Ā Cassowary, emu, kiwi, ostrich, penguin, rhea. There may be others, don't know.

Ā

Unless your talking humans, then there are several whose fixed wing aircraft attempts have failed.

And even more whose theories and beliefsĀ .wouldn't hold water or fly.
