Ew, yeah, tough situation! I think, if my son were brain dead, I would want to unhook him from any artificial means (he's already told us to do that if it happens) and see if his body takes over. If it doesn't, he's truly dead. But that's saying it without it actually being in front of me right now. Who knows how it would play out if I were faced with this...

Some brain waves, yeah, but NO brain waves? I can't see myself being willing to fight him back...especially as we do not know when the soul is in Heaven. Could the soul already be there (if saved of course)? Or does the soul wait until the machines are turned off?

Either way...if the soul is gone, why keep the body alive? If the soul is trapped in a body like that, why force it to stay on earth?

When God takes the soul, one is dead. That's why I personally believe people who see the "white light" were never really dead and that Terry Schivo may have been....... :hide

We do not know when God takes the soul, though, so any argument based on that idea is moot.

I do agree that people who see white lights were not dead though. LOL. Actually if they are "back alive" then their soul never left to begin with.

Anyone who claims to rise above their body and see themselves, its usually a sort of hallucination or semi-consciousness.

Incidentally Terri was not being kept alive by anything other than a feeding tube. That is not being "Dead".

They have yet to invent the machine that can keep you alive when God wants to take you. Doctors should quite trying to pretend they are God. They said Terri Schiavo was "brain dead" and she most obviously was not.
