An official State Department communication has labeled Jerusalem and Israel as separate entities.

In an official press release yesterday, the State Department announced that “Acting Under Secretary Kathleen Stephens Travels to Algeria, Qatar, Jordan, Jerusalem, and Israel.”

Keeping up with its longstanding policy, the State Department refuses to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s official capital — despite a U.S. law stating otherwise. Obama faced criticism on the issue last year, when it was revealed that the White House had scrubbed all references to Jerusalem being part of the Jewish state from a collection of photos on its website.

You fire the administration that appointed them.

We've had several administrations since Israel declared Jerusalem to be their capital and they all have rejected accepting it.

Good for the State department & the various administrations - Jerusalem is too important for the Christians & Muslim Palestinians for it to be recognised as being in Israel or the Israel capital.

How is any one city too important to anyone for it not to be a capitol of whoever controls it? The religious aspects of Jerusalem are more open now under Israeli control than they were prior to that.

Certainly there are many political arguments that could be made, but in the end, it should be up to each country to have their capital where they see fit.

So, how does one force the State Department to obey the law of the land?

America's State Department has been infested with Statists/Communists/Socialists/Democrats/Liberals since the 1930s. Nobody has been successful in ridding that place of them. If a President has the guts, it should be turned into a giant rubber room with no internet access and another agency, staffed with God-fearing people, to do the job.

Those in position of authority seems to think with their position of authority means they do not have to obey the law, that all of the laws are for those not in a position of authority.

Sad fact, authority corrupts.
