I just found out one of our nephews is now into 'Bath Salts.' I read a bit about this on the net & I find that 'Bath Salts' are not what I thought they were. That they skirt the law by selling them as 'Bath Salts,' & marked not for human consumption.

Anyone else had any experience of having a friend or relative use this stuff. It seems those that are prone to use drugs will use almost anything & have no fear of the averse effect it may have on them.

The one using this is one of my wife's youngest nephews. I met him in 68 when Linda & I got married & he was probably about 7 or 8. He was always wanting me to play with him in those younger days & I always would take time to play with him for a few minutes at least. We both still remember playing the game called 'Trouble,' hurts to see what he has been doing to himself in the last few years. Seems he will get on the right foot for a short time, them falls off. When you talk with him he understand what is right, & that such things will harm him, & he gets into church from time to time. I hardly even see him he lives several miles away from us.

The only bath salts I know is from either bath and body works or something along the lines a bath and shower kit or gift set we get them in, I also like making homemade bath salts but, I am not sure if these are the same I am confused.

This sounds like something different, Blessed. A synthetic street drug that they just call 'bath salts' to sound innocuous.

Yes, its something different, I've been hearing of that for a while, but 1st time I read up on it, & it causes all kind of trouble for those that use it. Of course us humans will think, it can't happen to me. The snort it, smoke it, & inject it.

This was just sorting to show up in the ER's in SW MO before I moved from that area. I believe it was giving the users meth-like effects.

Another thing users were doing was incense.

Guess these things were cheaper (and not illegal) than typical street drugs.

Yes, its cheaper, & for most states at this time, its legal, if it is marked, "Not For Human Consumption."

I think I may have read some states have declared it illegal if certain properties are found in it..

Drug addicts seem to abuse any thing they can get a high out of, with no regard for the potential death is might cause.

I even understand they will buy whip cream in a can, can air for cleaning your computer, using it to get high.

The 1st case I ever heard of was a neighbors daughter many years ago, they found her passed out, she had been sniffing from a can of gasoline. That was before I graduated from high school in 65. She was probably about junior high age. I recall for a short time they thought they might lose her, & if I remember right the doctor stated if they had not found her when they did she would not have made it.

There's another drug out today that is totally legal called Salvia Divinorum. It's a type of sage plant. I'm amazed this stuff is legal. Anyone can go into a herbal store and buy the stuff. There's a ton of video on Youtube showing people who are on it.

Check it out and explain to me why this is legal.

I knew someone who "huffed" on the computer can air (incident was about 10 years ago)....nearly died.....mouth and throat swelled up quickly and left him with blisters in his airway. If he hadn't been found and taken to the ER when he was, he would have did very soon after.
