For some reason bioterror scares me most. I guess because you really don't know about the attack until half the country has already been exposed and is dying. Yikes. I read Tom Clancy's "Executive Orders" a long time ago (do not recommend his books due to language) and it was scary...he practically prophecied the planes flying into buildings idea, and he also put forth a bioterror incident (using Ebola) and it was sobering how the terrorists did it and how long it took to figure out what was going on.

Seems like nuclear would be easier to stop but then I am not familiar with smaller scale nuclear attacks.

all a terrorist would have to do is fly into one of the nuclear power plants and we would have a massive containment breach :badday:

any terrorist with a grudge and a handgrenade could do us in at any time :badday:

as far as bio-terror goes - look at all the food contamination we have had lately - spinach, tomatoes, peppers, milk, and on and on - our food supply is VERY vulnerable to bio-attack :badday:

There is no question that the terrorists will strike again. It is just a question of how, where and when. These are patient people, and do not act on a whim. Any attack on the US will be a large scale attack, I believe. They will not waste time with small scale attacks that take little or no planning.

It may be next year, it may be another decade, but it will happen.

I'm not really discounting them. Just wishing them away LOL esp in light of where we live!

I've thought for a while that terrorists may already be the root cause for some of the food supply contamination. That and water supply are very easy to carry out.....

Very true, IM4G... :thumb ...and that's not all.

Take a look at this video for another real-live shocker on the food-supply.

Way back earlier in 2008 I made the following statement:::::::::::::

Those that will not grow a garden and/or store away food may not eat well this winter.

Extend that to the coming year of 2009.

I hear of some on this board that thoroughly enjoy canning and preserving their own food. My hat is off to them. I recall one lady that said that and I have to think that she is indeed a true Proverbs 31 woman. I heard of others that grow their own meat animals. They are very wise.

I wish I knew of a place to buy heirloom seeds. i.e. seeds that have not been hybridized. Hybridized seeds are not good. If seeds are saved from the fruits the offspring will revert back to something weird or maybe not even grow at all. I have it for tomatoes. There is a guy on my way to work that sells heirloom tomatoes. Since they have not been hybridized he can save seeds from the largest fruits and have his seed supply for the following year. This is not true of all fruits and veggies. My wife and I throroughly enjoy Butternut Squash. One year I threw the "guts" of a squash in the garden amongst the grass clippings and other compost. The next year there were a bazillion tiny squash plants growing. We harvested 27 really nice squash that year and all from that previous squash's innards.

As was stated, terrorist attacks will come - and if our soldiers are arbitrarily pulled out of Iraq, the attacks will come quicker. I for one am thankful that they are fighting over there and not here.

But it is coming...

I wish I had decent topsoil for a garden - the fire ants get everything I try to grow in this sand!

Here is an heirloom seed company that guarantees its products

Oh yes, it is coming! Obama will be a "war time" president without a "shadow of a doubt."

They will "try" some way to get in an invade our "Homeland Security" measures...that, BTW---GWB put in place. :thumb

They are "Terrorists" after all.

Do Democrats "think" they can "reason" with these people? Hardly. :eek

PE you have to remember that not everyone has the option of having a garden and canning the fruit of it. :smile

God led us here to the suburbs to this parsonage and He will just have to protect us here.
