Of course, all of scripture is great. But this time of year my mind always turns to verses about the Messiah. We go over some of the prophecies in nursing home every couple of years. This year I was looking at Genesis 3:15 again. It is so full!

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."

No wonder most women don't like snakes. :Green

Jesus' virgin birth is taught here. "her seed"
Jesus' death is taught here. "thou shalt bruise his heel."
Jesus' victory over death and the devil is taught here. "it shall bruise thy head."

Everyone knows that the sure way to kill a snake is to crush its head. And that's the process Jesus began when He was crucified (when the devil bruised His heel). One day soon the bruising of the devil's head will be finished...

Anyone want to enlarge on this? It is just fascinating to me!

:goodpost: :amen:

Genesis is such a profound, foundational and key book of the Bible. It's no wonder the devil spends so much time trying to attack this one book; especially the entire Creation account of which this is connected to.

So often people seem to think that God operates on a spur of the moment approach like we tend to much of the time. We forget that he has said, "I know the plans I have for you...". This verse is proof that God planned from the moment of the first sin to send His only begotten Son to be the victor over OUR sin and the one who tempts and attacks us daily. Isn't He a wonderful and loving God?

AMEN! When I read this verse, I think of the verse that tells us the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world. God Almighty knew the mess His creation would bring upon themselves, and already had a remedy before He created us. Just too great!!!!
