Let's not forget that Christ died for Osama too and unless one is a hyper-Calvinist, God didn't want to see Osama die in his sins.

Careful, you'll stir up some spirituality.

Yes, God loved Osama Bin Laden and Jesus died for his sins. and God gave him how many years to repent after 911? Ten? Sirs the man is already dead now...he sinned away his day of grace. Judgement time. He died because his "time" had come. The real sad part of it all is that if he didn't get saved, he is burning in Hell right now. None of that changes the fact that justice was served by our government. God ordained it that way: If you, even being a Chrsitian, murder ONE person,, you should and may get the death penalty. This man was responsible for the deaths of thousands.

What has been addressed mostly here with regards to your post was this "to hang his sorry carcase on a pole" which is not becoming of Christian charity. The man was an alledged murderer who was killed by those seeking him because of his alledged murders. (I say alledged because under our legal system no one is considered guilty without proof being presented that leads to conviction)

Osama reaped a life of crime, living and dying by the sword. No demeaning remarks are necessary, allow the principle of God's Word to speak.

Maybe this is what God wanted to happen to Bin Laden.
None of us can sit back here and say that this was or was not God's will for Osama. It is just guesses at this point.

We do know that this would not have happened had God not allowed it at this time. We also know from the Word that God's will is that none should perish but that all would come to salvation in Christ. We also know from the Word that few will actually come to Christ, that most will reject Christ and die in their sins.

Just like Jerry did, you took my statement out of context. Also go back and read my very first post in this thread, along with the last sentence in the second post. My point was that our governemt had every right to kill Osama Bin Laden, and every right to do as they saw fit with his body. Sorry I offended you, here is my revised remark.........

No, our government had the right and the authority to hang his remains on a tree at "ground zero" if they chose to. But then we are not like al quaeda.

Deuteronomy 21:22
And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: 23His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

God is the one who instituted capital punishment. Bin Laden worked overtime to hurt the people of this country. The duty of our federal government is to protect the citizens of this country from enemies. And he was an enemy. Kinda like those enemies to Israel that God had destroyed.

We reap what we sow. OBL reaped last week what he's been sowing for years. God used Americans in the reaping. (and yes, God used them...it is, after all, His law of reaping and sowing)

Show the pictures? It doesn't matter to me. I'm still not sure whether or not this was a pr stunt by BO. His ratings were down, he's just started campaigning - what a shot in the arm for him. Cynical? Yep. But also aware of history. Was OBL really killed last week? Or was he killed earlier? Who knows - maybe we should check Wiki-leaks. Will pictures prove anything? No. Especially since the White House keeps changing its story as to what happened...(and the fact that he's been living in Pakistan all these years...do I really believe that the Pakistani and American governments didn't know where he was???)

I didn't vote because the only choices were yes or no. Mine would be more of a "what's the use?"

Good point, Happy.
In my line of business, there are folk who can Photoshop a picture of anything. Photos are no longer reliable proof. Good thing we have DNA.

Mine, too, heart. I've photoshopped my share, done it convincingly, and am not a pro at it.

I never said the American government was wrong to search out a suspected mass murderer or even to kill them in given situations. Where, however, in the Constitution does the government have the right or authority to hang a dead mans body in NYC?

I know I'm out of my depth here, but... where in your Constitution does it forbid them from doing so? Not saying it's morally right, but is it legally wrong?

The Constitution gives specific instruction on what is allowed. All other matters are left to the States. Of course America doesn't abide by the Constitution so it may be a moot point.

However, there is no provision for the government to display the remains of a dead man in NYC.

Likely as not, the American government didn't want Osama taken alive and they absolutely didn't want him in America, dead or alive.

Actually, if the people of New York had no objections, there would be nothing unconstitutional about it. If the federal government insisted upon it, it would be unconstitutional. However, if they chose to hang him in DC, it wouldn't be - that is federal area, granted by the surrounding states.

Hangings and so forth were done publicly in years gone by based on a biblical premise. When God punished individuals (like Achan), it was done publicly to strike fear of sin into the hearts of the people. I think hanging ObL would simply inflame the jihadin world rather than striking fear into hearts.

Well the decision was just made, anyway. No release of the photo. Doesn't surprise me...Obama doesn't like releasing ANY paperwork....
