The governor was clear as to what he meant by brother/sister and also clear that he would that all men and women would become his brother/sister in Christ.

We already have a president who is either a closet Muslim or at the least a Muslim sympathizer. We've already had a Catholic president and the country seems willing to consider voting in a Mormon as president.

If there were a Muslim president, or governor, and he proclaimed that only fellow Muslims were his brothers/sisters in the context of Islam, I would be glad he was forthright about it. It would be better to have someone in office clear on such matters rather than one who proclaims to be a Christian yet denies many of the fundamentals of what it means (what it takes) to be a Christian and then lifts up the Muslim religion above his professed Christianity.

The governor gave a very acceptable speech, a very biblical speech, a very Christ-honouring speech. The reactions of some to his speech is far more telling about America, both among professing Christians and non-Christians, and should be of much concern.

Can I Amen you on that brother (err, I mean spiritual brother in the Christian faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ NOT to be confused with brother by earthly parents, or brother through fraternity at school, or brother by nationality, or..., or...,)
:amen:

Unfortunately the governor has apologized and his apology makes it sound as if he actually had something to apologize for.

So sad to see Christians cowering so much these days. It's really sad when those in false religions will refuse to apologize and stand firm for their false religion much more than most who profess to be Christians.

Of all people, shouldn't Christians be the most bold?

Such a shame to see another victory for the enemy already this year and we've not even made it a full month into the year yet. :icon_sad:

If I became a governor, congressmen, or senator, I would never offend anyone. :icon_mrgreen: Ever. I don't even know how to offend people.

Laugh of the day!! :clapping:

I figured he'd apologize. Perhaps his wording could have been a little more circumspect, but there was no need to apologize.

Agreed. Likely all around him were counseling him to aplogize and most politicians don't have the backbone or the solid conviction to stand strong upon truth.

I thought of being hard in my reply but, exactly who would that honor? I'm sure he thought this over throughly.
